shady's "Last Ride" Campout 9/1- Gatesville
I have clearance from shady and ghost.....the camp-out is on for shady's Last Ride next weekend. So far all we got is all day Saturday, September 1st ride, the Ghost Ranch for grilling and camping Saturday night, and a ride to LC for Sunday lunch.
There is a hotel for non-campers about 8-9 miles away in Gatesville. I have my tent coffin so I'm good either way. Soon as I get back with ghost I will post up more. We'll have a cage or two for town runs and taxi rides to the motel. I'll have ghost check on rates but I remember $75. Leave your 'tude at home. Bring your best lies and your funniest jokes and you'll be welcome.  shady will be leaving Ft. Hood and taking his attack helicopter skillz to Ft. Rucker , Alabama as an instructor. (Think "Greenbow, Al-a-bam-a".) In list. Just booked two rooms at the Ramada on the loop at Gatesville. Best I could do was $81+ ttl. As of right now, plenty of rooms available.
Dove hunters and family reunion at the Chateau D'ville Best Western. There is a smaller motel with cheaper rates on main but I know nothing about it. Ghost said he thought Andrew T stayed there once and didn't die. Most will be camping.......... but I won't .

In other news, mr2mch says $55 at el cheapo motel The Gatesville Inn . We'll send ghost by to look at it. The day ride Saturday will be Rally Scouting for RTB3. Run what you brung. Street or dirt. The taxi service will be there to keep us safe Saturday night. I can route the street folks. Yeah I know. Short notice. Hey. For this group this is pretty good planning.

 In other news, JD is coming down Friday night so we'll be getting our usual early start. lol Ghost is opening up the Rancho for Friday night arrivals, too.

Yes, I stayed at the, um, Gatesville Inn back in June. Cheap, well-worn almost to the point of ratty, cold a/c, clean. I think it was $40 for a double, but it may have been $50. If all you're planning to do is sleep there, well, it suited me fine.
I'd be there but already have non-riding plans that weekend. Y'all have fun!

A few folks have asked if this an open event....This is a RIDE/PARTY/CAMPOUT
 ....NO Offense Shady but we are using you for an excuse to have a party ANYONE can come to this. If ya need directions post up and we will take care of you. We will start Friday night and finish at Loco Coyote on Sunday

I'm supposed to head to Arkansas for the weekend for the Epic Ride, but Issac may wash that out. I've been kicking myself for missing your last campout at the ranch so I'll be there is Issac swings too much further west.
How are the trails at the ranch? Need recutting or are they rideable? Just wondering if I should come on the DR650 or the BMW.

About 43 years ago I was sitting in Biloxi. Hurricane Camille was off-shore due south. The weather geeks kept predicting it would turn and go east to Panama City or west to Beaumont. It never changed direction and drilled us. Right up the gut.
