In that case the Weestrom is a good choice. I just traded of my DRZ for a Wee to use as a commuter and couldn't be happier.

Re: Light Sport tourer
If you can find one in great shape a Honda Pacific Coast fills your needs very well...Save some of your money for incidentals....3-4 K$ will buy you a great bike..

Re: Light Sport tourer
I can vouch for the PC800. MIL has one and I've ridden it A LOT. To Indiana and back, several trips to Houston. A trip or two to Mena too. Not lightweight, but not overly portly. Not super sporty but gets it done.
Not near as fun as the ST2, but the ST2 is torn down at the moment! The PC will haul a lot and do it all day long. REAL FLAT torque curve, though, if you have the urge to twist the wrist -- I constantly hit the rev limiter when I'm "having fun" and shifting by feel...

Re: Light Sport tourer
I have a deal on 07 FZ6. The owner will not be back in town until next friday. When all goes well, I'll have my new bike next saturday am.
This has ben so much fun. I've got to know so much about mid size bikes, and now know that each bike is special in its own way. The euro bikes were a great find. The Shiver, and Street Triple R are bikes that I hope to try for a season or two. The big BMW is the bike I would like to work my way up to. For now the FZ6 is a great second bike for me right by the side of my 250. You guys have been such a big help. I'll sure I'll need the same help with setting the bike up for sport touring. I'll post photos asap. Thanks again. |

Nice. The FZ6 should be a lot of fun for you and is probably one of the netter choices out there.

Re: Light Sport tourer
I'm going to go with the Givi V35 side setup later for my light tourer. I don't think I'll need the top case setup.

The top case is extremely handy even more than the side cases IMHO.

Re: Light Sport tourer
I added a top case to my NT700. Now I hardly use the side cases unless I am on the road. The top case is so much easier to access.
