Looks like all I have left now is to see if my schedule will work out for it.

Waiting until later this week when we can talk to my mom. We're going to see if we can get her to watch our daughter. If so, then both my wife and I will join in this year.

Going south from Evant on 281 take a right on CR2965 across from the electrical power sub station then when it tees into 2901 go left (south) & it crosses the river shortly after. Then comes the "little piece of gravel"

Did some more RTB3 Rib Run Re-Con this weekend. It's coming together nicely. Should be a great Friday "taste" of what Saturday and Sunday will bring. Had some help, too. Woodbutcher and Hizzo and Beemerbob and solorider and TTR and skatz all got to ride some of the new stuff after lunch Saturday. I just won't say what parts.
Pray for rain.

Yeah, those roads up there are some of my favorites. Between the roads and Loco's famous ribs everyone's palates should be wet!

Mostly just street tires and momentum.

Ah OK. Was Larry on anakees?
I have a feeling I will be swapping my front anakee to something more aggressive. I can live with drift in the rear more than I can up front. Some of those turns were getting a bit loose for me. Plus then there was that giant hill where I spun my back tire the whole way up or it would have been an interesting redo. Awesome roads so far. Definitely cam worthy. I think JD was on Anakees too but my gearing is way tall so it didn't want to tractor up after I got stopped. It was just to hard to find a clutch/throttle balance in a timely manner. I ran into the same problem you did with the front wanting to step out. Bigdave about has me convinced to run a Big Block up front but the reviews don't seem so great. On the other hand they're cheaper than a TKC or Scout. Rumor is Kenda is planning to change the compound but I don't know if they've gone through with it or not. What pressure do you run in your anakees? Just curious since your similar height and weight to me. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Re: ROLL THE BONES III: BIGGER AND BETTER. October 26-28, 2012, Hamilton, TX
Yeah, the previous owner took 4 teeth OFF the rear sprocket so it accelerates only slightly faster than a lightly modded KLR. I'm going to remedy that real soon.
I had them aired up for street. I just run what the manufacturer recommends and haven't had the bike long enough to remember off the top of my head. I should have aired down a couple PSI for Saturday. From watching the video again I can also see that I was way to close to JD going into that hill. I've never ridden 3137 going that direction but if I had I would have stopped or slowed at the bottom and let him get up first. IIRC he said some of Germany's finest electro-wizardry is what stopped him going up. |
