New Guy from Carrollton

I wanted to introduce myself and say hello.

My name is Brian, and I picked up a '09 KLX250s about a month ago and have been riding it around a little bit.

I went to SHNF last weekend and ran some trails on the North and South side with some friends. It was a ton of fun and now I'm looking for some more places to ride nearby. I was wanting to run out to Bridgeport this weekend, but work intervened so maybe next weekend.

I'm looking forward to meeting some riders in the area.

Welcome to the site!

A lot of the Dallas area folks ride up at Red River. I've never been there so I don't have the info. Shoot a PM to DFW_Warrior. I think he's been up there a lot and can help with info on where to ride.

If you want government to intervene domestically, you’re a liberal. If you want government to intervene overseas, you’re a conservative. If you want government to intervene everywhere, you’re a moderate. If you don’t want government to intervene anywhere, you’re an extremist. — Joe Sobran

It is no crime to be ignorant of economics, which is, after all, a specialized discipline and one that most people consider to be a ‘dismal science.' But it is totally irresponsible to have a loud and vociferous opinion on economic subjects while remaining in this state of ignorance. – Murray N. Rothbard

When one possessed of the Truth suffers from a heavy heart he is susceptible to a more dangerous affliction — the craving for power to eradicate error, to cause Truth to triumph by force. - Frank Chodorov

Where politicians flourish, long history has harshly taught us, people and their liberty wither. Where the state is god and the "public interest" worshipped, individual man will be found bleeding upon the altar. - Karl Hess

The accepted wisdom is that without the state, society would collapse into lawlessness and crime. In fact, lawlessness and crime define the very nature of the state and the society organized by it. - Bionic Mosquito

But the myth of the rule of law does more than render the people submissive to state authority; it also turns them into the state's accomplices in the exercise of its power. For people who would ordinarily consider it a great evil to deprive individuals of their rights or oppress politically powerless minority groups will respond with patriotic fervor when these same actions are described as upholding the rule of law. - John Hasnas

Re: New Guy from Carrollton

Welcome from the edge of Carrollton/The Colony lol. Careful where you took that pic, I grew up off roading down there, but that particular city is getting a little strict on that spot. After going down there every once in a while, I saw posted signs in the bushes that somebody had torn down. Too bad that area is only 1/3 the size it used to be. My avatar shot was taken just past that creek you are parked in front of.

P.S. Let me know next time you are going out there, I won't travel the posted section, but the other unposted section I am all for

Re: New Guy from Carrollton

Thanks for the welcome guys!

stealthcrf: I ended up just making a short trip around the Levee and stopped for that pic. I saw some signs on my way out but they were really faded, and I didn't go close enough to be sure but I assumed they were some sort of no trespassing signs so I never bothered going back.
I assume you the other area you are talking about is on the other side of the creek by the High Voltage lines. I'll have to check it out.

Re: New Guy from Carrollton

Man, my mistake I was totallllllly off and thought you were somewhere else, I have been where your pic was shot, but that is not the area I was talking about. I was thinking of this area near Carrollton:

The bridge had me making assumptions.
