Sold - 2004 KLR 650 for sale, including riding gear, etc.
2004 KLR 650. 8778 miles, may increase. I'm the third owner and have the title in hand. New Michelin T63 knobby tires. +/- $1000 in upgrades and extras. Runs great - always garage kept. Counter balance lever (Doohickey) was supposedly done by a previous owner - I haven't checked to be sure. With the exhaust and fuel mods the mileage is in the mid 40's. Stock they get mid 50's. The stock parts are included with the sale.
I was setting it up as an ADV bike for a long trip that didn't happen. All you need is luggage and you're set for an adventure. I'd jump on it today and ride to California if I had to. It's ready to go. Some of what it has: Jardine RT-4 Muffler with Quiet insert and carb jet kit Seat concepts seat (MUCH better than stock) 16 tooth front sprocket and aftermarket rear sprocket (I'm not sure of the tooth count) - I have the original sprockets Longer shift lever for use with MX boots Dash board with voltmeter and powered switches K&N filter (air box mod has been done) Wolfman Rolie waterproof bag Bikemaster tool kit Tire tools Slime Air compressor 2 heavy motocross tubes (front and rear) Galfer brake pads (still in package - front and rear) Upgraded engine bolts Upgraded headlight bulb 12V accessory plug for cell phones, etc. Lots of extras including original muffler and jets, Sprockets, extra clutch cable, levers and misc parts. I also have a Clymer repair manual that goes. It looks like one of the earlier owners did a mod on the stock muffler, and not too good a job - kind of rough. I don't know what it sounds like. The tools, both tubes and compressor all fit in the Wolfman bag, with some room to spare. That's what's in it in the pictures. I recently rebuilt the rear master cylinder and petcock. I also made a set of LED auxilary lights to see and be seen better. They are easily removed and are powered by a switch on the dash. Also going with the bike - XL Olympia Recon 2 mesh Jacket and Olympia 2 stage liner system (not for this jacket, but works great) paid $200. I was warm on a 40* morning with this system. AFX FX - 39 (size medium) Dual Sport helmet AXO Boxer Enduro motocross boots - size 10.5 - used 1X Gloves, knee and elbow guards. All the above purchased new except the liner system - ebay. I also have a pair of Sliders Khaki Cargo's 38x36 - these run large and long - if the buyer wants them. The GPS units and mounts are not included. It needs an inspection but will pass. UPDATE: It has been inspected and has a current sticker. This is a great bike, and have owned it one year. I'm just not into motorcycles as I thought I would be and have an old Jeep I'm fixing up. Located in Pearsall, about an hour south of San Antonio. Kind of dirty in the pics, sorry! $3,500 OBO - no trades please. If you don't want/need the riding gear, we can negotiate. |

Having the inspection done would alleviate a lot of potential buyer concerns and it's cheap so if it'll pass, consider having that done and remove the concern?
GLWTS. Lot's of good stuff for someone looking for a turn-key ride.

Re: 2004 KLR 650 for sale, including riding gear, etc.
Thanks for the suggestion, I didn't really consider it - I parked it and that was that. I've got to go out of town this weekend, but I'll get it (the registration) done the next if I still have it. That way, If anything, I'll keep riding till I sell it. I love the thing, but have other things I want to do more...

Bumpity-bump-bump-bump....
IF my backburner had a backburner, that's where selling this bike would be. I had it inspected this morning (9/8/12). It passed, and now has a current sticker. If anyone wants a good, go anywhere bike, give me a shout... |

Re: 2004 KLR 650 for sale, including riding gear, etc.
I forwarded your link to a fella who's not a member of the forum but has expressed to me a desire for a KLR650. This just might be the ticket. I'll let you know his response.
