Are these the dances that require alcohol, a fire and a sacrificial pig?

I'll bring my redneck fire extinguisher. (That means I'll wear clean drawers so I can beat the flames down with my britches)

Routing continues. Cabin walls are too small. Wife not pleased.

I'm IN!
Registration done. T-shirt ordered. Both paid with paypal. I've been looking forward to this since meeting Ghostrider and Mr2mch at Tricepilot's BBQ4U event. Not 100% decided, but I think I'll be on my Versys, riding "paved goat paths". I don't mind a little gravel in the mix. Slight chance I might change my mind and bring the KLX and go for the dirtiest possible routes...I'll let you know. See you there!

We appreciate the support. And since you've already met those two, well.... you're good to go.

Re: ROLL THE BONES III: BIGGER AND BETTER. October 26-28, 2012, Hamilton, TX
Seeking input by pm on the Paved Raid. Don't want to clog this thread up too much with specific suggestions. I've promised a heckuva street ride and I want to deliver. I want it twisty or sweeping and , at the least, some topo. "Flat and straight, we must negate." copyright J. Cochran, Esq., DeaD.
How many miles? I am making the assumption that these might be big ol' tubs, capable of munching miles. 300+? 400+? 500? I don't want to "down and back" but some of our roads might be worth it. FM 1473 comes to mind immediately. I want it to be there but it turns to gravel and there will be no gravel on this route. I'm gonna include some/a bunch of Chalk Mountain CR's from Mr2mch's "Book of Paved Goat-paths". Usual FM suspects are 1238, 572, 580, 590, 1476, 1496. Thinking 8-10 hours in the saddle depending on your moving speed. (Of course there are multiple ways to shorten it to get back.) Post up general comments here, specific road suggestions by pm.

Re: ROLL THE BONES III: BIGGER AND BETTER. October 26-28, 2012, Hamilton, TX
I (we) rode oodles & tons o great little paved CRs over in east Texas the last 2 days. Wish there was some way to incorporate them into the rally...!huh
I took Wingnut, Windy Willie & Liteitup along for the ride today. First time I've dragged anyone over there for those CRs since I've been mappin them out. Even Windy Willie was suitably impressed (& he wants the big roads usually!) ...but I digress......If there's a way.....I'm gonna show whoever wants to go....some of those little gems sometime. Now ...back to the rally info..... Tom ...Don't use up all those FMs.....I need some to lace together with my patented "twist & shout" method of mixing up the pavement.

Course he did ride the FJR....even after Wingnut suggested he bring the FZ instead.....still...no complaints from him on the small CRs.

I noticed a lot of overlap with my Raid as well, but that's Ok, It'll be more fun passing all those old guys up!

Once TXjames gives me my own key to the clubhouse I will transfer the maps to the clubhouse wall and we can see what the overlap is.
Y'all just do your best to stay outta the way of the big bikes. Maybe you could try some race gas? Maybe some hotter plugs? Of course, he hasn't agreed that I actually have a clubhouse.....
