Well guess we need to cross our fingers for this weekend. For weather updates we will be posting here. There is a call before you haul number on the flyer but for up to the minute postings averyone can call 713-553-4313.
MSRA members will be at the park starting on Friday evening. Feel free to call as it is hard to tell sometimes what conditions are by a weather map.

If Saturday's practice gets rained out does that automatically mean that the race will be rescheduled? Any prereserved reschedule date?

A decent rain would probably make conditions perfect, things are very dry now. I am old school and really don't think practice should be part of an offroad event. Adds additional damage to the trails and is not fair to those who cannot make it early enough. Just hope Sunday is a good day, lots of folks have worked hard to put this event on.

Irish, he didn't quite use the right words! Saturday is an open ride day for the park, seperate from the race. It will not be running the race course, so no unfair advantage!

O-k, October is a busy month, they are looking at best date IF it is needed. As of now we'll planning on making it a go.

And yes, open ride could get cancelled and the race could still be ran!

If they do need to assign a new date post up asap. As it turns out I cannot make this weekend. Not wishing it to be postponed for your guys sake but if it is I need all the advance notice I can get. Oct and Nov are very busy for me so will be tough to squeeze in.

I got the ol'bike running as soon as the storm clouds rolled in over my house this afternoon. Here's to hoping the rain's are heavy enough to knock down the dust, but not the race!!!

Ok, here's the deal as of now(10am). We've been delt a bad hand and trying to salvage as best we can! Pretty much unless the sun comes out the ride day is cancelled.

BUT

As of now the race is still a go. We really havn't had that much rain yet. Just watering the track, hehe. Janine can kick the top soil and dry underneath. We are making every effort to have the race now. The next few weeks are full.

What we need from you is: if we race come on out and support MSRA, we've done a lot to make this happen. It might be wet but it won't be an event where you bury a bike.

So watch the forums and hopefully we'll see you Sunday. We will post any changes immediately.

MSRA would like to thank those of you who took the chance and sacrificed your time to come out even though mother nature wasn't willing to play nice. It is an awesome course Rob had layed out for us. We thought we were going to make it until around 10 Saturday night when it absolutley poured. It was just too much for the property to take. It was very disappointing to say the least.
With that being said, we have a fairly solid commitment from the land owners for us to try the race again on October 27 and 28. Unfortunately, it is the only date we have open to use before the holidays hit. So we will know by the end of the week if that is a concrete date, but I believe it will be a go.

I hope this stays the date. I have season tickets to all of Baylor's home games, and they play away that weekend. So that makes this the perfect weekend!!

It appears that the best we can do is to have the race on November 10 and 11th. We apologize to the folks who race another series that have events which land on the same day as the reschedule date. It is a shame that things occurred as they have as we will now be into the meat of the holidays, rainy season and daylight savings time.
Everybody keep their fingers crossed because if we get rained on that day I really don't know what we will do.
We thank you for your support and words of encouragement last weekend. We really needed them after after all the work that went into getting prepared to have it all be for nothing.
So I will try and get the flyer out tonight with new dates on it. We still have the shirts, the helmet and all the other goodies Cycle Shack gave us to raffle off.
MSRA has over 20 miles of trail to maintain and only 16 families. So we really could use a good turnout to help the club to buy equipment and other things to make our job easier.
