Pondering about a Crazy Bob’s pie run camp-out? (9/28 & 9/29)

Friday (9/28) & Saturday (9/29).

This month’s pie run is in Ponder and the nearest park is Ray Roberts Lake State Park, so that is the location for this month’s pie run campout.

There are two areas of this park. I have our reservations at the south side of the lake (ISLE DU BOIS).

Currently there is an open fire ban, but we can still do a charcoal fire for cooking. For those with iPhones there is an app called “Eternal Fire” that you could download and we can have a nice virtual fire.

If the weather is anything like it has been lately, it should be great camping weather.

This will be a two pie event. After pie in Ponder, and the Saturday arrivals have had time to set up camp, we will end up later that afternoon at Clark’s Outpost BBQ in Tioga for a slice of Beemer Bob Pie. I kid you not.

Friday (9/28) & Saturday (9/29).

So, who is in? What say you? Please let me know what nights.

If the pie is meant to represent the person it is named after, I think we are in for some interesting pie!

Camping crew - What characteristic would you expect in the pie? Allow me to start...

Tasteless

Now let's hear your thoughts!!!!

I am guessing a solid Cabernet backbone with overtones of oil, dirt and exhaust. The aroma reminds me of a long days ride. You know, the kind where you think to yourself "dang I need to go find a shower!" Appearance would be rather disjointed due to unusual planning before and during preparation. Of course it would be served a la mode.

See, I would have gone with a merlot. Dry and bitter...

I was also thinking of the following attributes:

Grisly
Lumpy
Tart
Crusty
Overdone
Overbearing
Dry
Round with a few pieces missing
Crumbly around the edges
Flaky
Too many vent holes
Sour
Offensive
Soaked in booze

I feel like George Carlin with the 7 words you can never say on tv.

Hopefully we get another cold front like what we had last weekend. That was amazing! I almost needed a windbreaker at my CHL class
