Motorcyclist down at FM32 near Wimberley 9/18
A rider on a FZ slammed into the side/back of my dad today while he was pulling into his driveway on FM 32. This is the very straight stretch of road just before the devils backbone (headed downward) where riders like to go fast. My dad said this SUV may be totaled and the FZ lost its front wheel and handle bars. Even the SUVs rear tire blew-out from the bikes impact so some speed was involved. The impact pushed the SUV into their gate taking it down. Dad’s OK and the ride not too bad considering (from what I hear). The rider didn’t know what happened once he came to and had a friend following nearby in a van to assist at the scene (thank goodness). The rider did get taken away via helicopter, though.
If anybody knows the riders condition post up please as I hope a full recovery is soon for him!
Just a few years ago and a few yards from today’s accident I arrived on scene just after a Harley rider did the same but he wasn’t so lucky. It’s a reminder to me that we all need to be extra careful and always be extra alert at all times while on two wheels.
