Very nice, looking forward to seeing the powder coated headers. Now I know what my black bars will look like (havent installed yet.) on my bike. Is it pricey to powder coat the rear sets? I'm looking to black out a much as I can on my machine.

thank you, I first painted it which looked very nice but did not last long with wear and tear. powder coating isnt too pricely if you do it all at once every thing other then the headers cost me 125. totally worth it alot more durable and i love the look.

Did you ever hear any plastic buzzing noises before you did the work ? And if you did is it gone now with the removal ?

LMAO i thought i was going crazy!, but yes its very light but still there it comes from under the seat somewhere. there was another one coming from the front but i got rid of it with some cushions. been to lazy to attack the second one because it comes and goes.

Yeah..I still have the stock half fairing and notice buzzing plastic noise around the gauges..And sometimes it's completely silent, and then it shows up for a while..I've noticed it does it much less in cooler weather...I thought that removing all that stuff and going naked such as you have would eliminate the issue..

I think its because its not coming from the front its just echoing up there, put the bike on its stand and rev it a bit while puting you ear near the rear seat. thats were i think its coming from.

Re: My 2007 1250s Suzuki Bandit Making it into a streetfighter tell me what you think

Looking good Streetfigher ... thanks for the link in my weight loss thread

Some questions please ...

Are those your original faired clocks (gauges)? If yes, how did you fix them to the unfaired top yoke bracket and what did you do to hide the the tabs where they used to fix to the faired subframe?

Would I be right in thinking you started with a faired non-ABS 1250?

I tried drag bars on my 1250 but the switchgear touched the tank:

... and I had problems with the bars touching the fork preload adjusters but I did have the forks raised in the yokes. Mine were Renthal drag bars, what are yours and how close are they to the tank?

Thank you

Yes my bandit did start out full fairing and non-ABS. Looked like (vvv)

Yes, they are the original faired clocks, i cut the backs to fit and then made a custom bracket and used push grommets and a rubber o ring to hold. will sent you some pics of this when i get a chance. ( but sex bolts or pins would of worked too) its 7 that i cut.

As for the bars it was it took some trail and error, with the coffins (reservoirs) touching the forks and the switches touching the tank but i got it to a happy medium, i have very little space between the tank and the switchs tho like 1/16 lol but i tried it out for a while cause i love the look and have no compliants or handleing problems. hope i answered all your question and Thanks again.

P.s. when i get some free time ill send you some pics of everything. Btw i loved the way the gsf650f seat looked on your bike so i just traded some one for it. great idea there looks awesome!

Thanks for all this information. Very interesting - any other thoughts or photos would be much appreciated

I've not seen the faired clocks modified for a naked conversion (apart from transferring the circuit board into new outer cases). I had given up modifying mine so I'm running a cheap Kosso speedo for now. You can see from the photo that I'm also using Renthal ultra-low bars .... which aren't very low at all

I honestly feel you did the best with what you had, beause i can show you how to make and mount the OEM gauges but with your set up all the wires and screws would be exposteds. Theres a way it would fit well but even then the plug in the back is too high up. but i still will send you some pics and any thoughts.

Problem identified....
i figured out what it was, the gauges! if I squeeze the tacho plastic surround, the buzzing stops. It's as though the "glass" is vibrating in the plastic mounding. If your still underwarrentie suzuki mite change it, if not open it up (carefully) and put some pading around the plastic/glass it fixed it for me. good luck let me know if this helps any.

The ceramic coated headers, new seat, air box, cut the rear holder on passage peg, and custom baffle (not done yet but will put a clip up of sound and finished product)
