SOLD: '08 R1200 GS
SOLD off another forum. Thanks for everyone's interest and comments.
Considering selling my GS. Selling my 2008 BMW R1200 GS motorcycle. It comes with heated grips, trip computer, crash bars, front fender "beak", full luggage, hand guards, J&M cb radio with input for your iPod/phone, PIAA driving lights, corbin driver's saddle and stock seats. I currently have a 52 Litre GIVI trunk which holds two full face helmets which I replace with the matching BMW trunk which unfortunately hangs when expanded to full size. It's easy to work around, but thought I'd mention it. I am negotiable about including the GIVI trunk, and we can discuss the price difference upon sale of the bike. There is also a GIVI aftermarket windshield with winglets which really make the bike road worthy, and a trailer hitch should you decide to pull a trailer with it. Finaally, it comes with spoked wheels which usually come on the upgraded "Adventure" model of this bike. They are lighter and stronger than the cast wheels you usually find on this bike. It has around 12,000 miles and is a great touring machine. I have clear title on the bike in hand and am ready to deal. No test rides unless I'm holding a boatload of cash in my hand. Rest assured that this bike is tall and while it is light, it can be a little intimidating without the proper inseam to handle it. The tires have maybe 2000 miles on them so you are good to go for several thousand more before looking at another set. I am the second owner and am pretty sure he always kept it indoors. While I've had it, it's always been in my bike shed on a battery tender which I will include with the sale of the bike also. If after posting I think of anything else, I will edit this ad. It's on craigslist (UGH) for an exorbitant $15000. Here on TWT, I am quite negotiable. I'm thinking somewhere between $13000 and $14000. Handsome Assistant Principal in pic not included. PM or email me with any questions and I'll be happy to answer as needed.

Thanks JD. I'm really torn about this to be the truth but I'm looking forward to moving ahead. Ride safe.

Re: '08 R1200 GS
Just curious what kind of trailer you pulled with it?

Re: '08 R1200 GS
What it's capable of pulling and what I pulled are two different things. LOL
I only towed with it two times, once to take the small trailer to Plano for help getting it wired in and once to New Braunfels when I thought camping in a tent on the coldest night of the year would be a really good idea. Trust me, it wasn't. I don't know the make, but here's a pic...

This isn't good for a sale....
I've been riding to work/school all week this last week. I'm seriously considering not selling. It's set up perfectly for me and it's so much fun to ride. I'm thinking this might not be a bike I'm willing to part with yet?

Re: '08 R1200 GS
Just got back from the Hill Country. It's getting harder and harder to consider selling so I've decided to let the CL ads run their course and then close out. If it sells, OK. If not I certainly won't mind keeping it. It's set up so perfect for me right now.
