I'm at Holly Park Friday and Rusk KOA cabin on Saturday and the Super8 Thursday night.


Just changed to Heidineau K60 scouts tires for this ride. Working on my tools and spare tube, etc. Moving my MadStad windshield to its lowest level. May be taking out my rain gear as the forecast is looking better and better. Ride time coming on quickly.

I assume we are riding counter clock wise. The routes in post 270 are counter & the tracks are clock wise.

I don't even know. I'm just using the tracks without turn by turn routing.

I am like Joel and going to use tracks if I get my GPS woes fixed. My new Montana shuts down every time I hit the gas hard. It appears to be induced noise from the ignition. Right now I can't even test because it has lost its mind and just says system software missing. Garmin is supposed to email me a file to restore it. I hope to get it going this week.

Patty Bean just called to let us know that all is ready for us Friday night. Plenty of fire wood for a cool evening. As a reminder Beans campground will also have coffee, rolls, etc for us on Saturday morning for donations only.
Patty is also suggesting for next year her doing a BBQ for us there at the camp ground.

As always, when you arrive at beans just find a spot you like. Nothing is assigned. It is all for TWT. Pay after you get settled in.

Help. I have changed GPS and the Zumo uses Routes not Tracks. I have the Routes except for Livingston to Moscow.

Does anyone have "Old Israel route-Livingston to Moscow" as a Route? Would you send it to me? If not its no big deal as I'll just follow a leader. Thanks.

Is the North Start group meeting up at the Rusk KOA on Friday morning? Looks to be a small group. My wife and son who turned 16 today are going so we will be a slow group. We have a gps with the routes, air pump, tire tools, patch kit, spare tubes, etc. Anyone is welcome to ride with us, just plan on going slow.

I'm plaining on being at the KOA in rusk w/the support truck & trailer about 7:30, give or take 10 mins. I think our departure time is 8:30ish. Send me a PM and I'll get you guys my phone #, if you think you need it before.... if not I'll get it to you fri morn before we leave.

Ok you guys who have done this before, what type of helmet? Dirt or something with face shield? Jacket or jersey with chest protector? I know these are personal and there will be lots of opinions.

Since it looks like it will be warm, I am going to wear a jersey and gear, it is much cooler for me to wear that than the jacket. And if it starts out cool in the morning then I will throw a sweatshirt over everything and remove it when I get too warm. However, you can't go wrong with a good mesh jacket and a synthetic shirt underneath.

Will we stop for dinner before we hit the campground/s? I don't need to bring my camp cooking gear do I? Please let me know, this my first time to do this ride. I was just planning on bringing snacks and stopping for dinner at the end of the day before bed.

It will probably be dusty. I'm definitely going to have goggles with me. I wear glasses and there is nothing worse than trying to keep the dust off the outside and inside of both the glasses and the faceshield. With the goggles, I just keep a dust rag in the tank bag and wipe the front of the lens when I stop.
