Moonset on 10/19 is @2229. I think I will just make it a tradition to refuse to set up a hammock in daylight. I've only done it once.

Weather is looking beautiful! Sunny, low 80's. Not a chance for rain.

Football and band are acceptable alternatives in Texas. We'll sure miss you and the boys tho.

Hey, we have a national sidecar rally scheduled for June 20-23, 2013 -- when school is out. Rally central will be the a/c meeting hall at the Stone County Fairgrounds in Mountain View, Arkansas. Preliminary info is here: http://www.sidecar.com/mbbs22/forums...osts=9&start=1

Oops. Did this while doing my valves today. That plug goes to my flywheel so I can find TDC. Found a backup plan of putting the bike in 6th gear and turning the wheel slowly.

Re: Uncertain?Rendezvous Sidecar Rally Oct. 18-21, 2012

A very uncertain back road itinerary

A big thanks to Swamp Fox for planning and scouting out these routes.

All routes will include a trip through Stagecoach Road (The most Hunted Road in Texas ) The day rides will alow us to scout out possible hiding places for the Goatman so that we can be better prepared for him during the Saturday night run.

Be forewarned. I have a camera and I’m not afraid to use it. The routes will include several stops for photo opps.

GPS routes. I have converted Swamp fox's routes to GPS (gpx or gpd) format that I will be glad to share. Just PM me and let me know your email address and what format you want.

I will be leading these rides (well lead is too strong of a word). For those that don’t know me (consider yourself fortunate), I am stylishly full figured and riding a Ural black patrol with BMW styled decals that actually say BOB. Those that know me say I am hard to miss, although they would like to.

Friday
Meet at party central (Shady Glade Resort) at 2:00ish

Be fueled and fed. Route is about 100 miles that Swampy promises we will find dirt, gravel and pavement ending back at party central.
Saturday
We will have two rides today. A day time and a scary night ride to slay the goatman.
Day Ride
The day ride will begin at T. C. Lindsey’s General Store in Jonesville which is the ending spot for the morning’s domino ride.
Our timing will be a little uncertain because it is uncertain when the uncertain domino ride will conclude.

I guessing about 10:30 – 11:30. Depending on the time we get started and how loud our stomachs are growling as to what route we take. If time permits, I would like to take an excursion to Fugler Grocery & Market (northwest of Marshall) to have a world famous “Bubba Burger”. The Bubba Burger side-trip will add an hour to our route and we may not have time. If we don’t have time, we will find some lunch closer by (I’m sure swampy can give us lots of suggestions).

The short version (a shorted version of Friday’s ride) will be about 70 miles not including where ever we decide to get some lunch.
The route with the Bubba Burger excursion will be about 100 miles but the extra mileage will be pavement with the blazing speed of a Ural, it should take no time at all.
When we all assemble, we can cuss and discuss which route to take depending on time BUT WE MUST BE BACK TO PARTY CENTRAL BEFORE 3:30!
Night Ride.
After we have been well fed by the Waskom Lions Club, we will assemble about 6:30 at party central and head out to slay the Goatman. Make sure to bring wooden stakes and wear garlic or whatever is needed to protect yourselves. This will be a run down stagecoach road and then back up (if we are still alive). Total of about 36 miles returning to party central (hopefully).

Q said he can squash the Goatman into gazpacho with his big bubba back tire.

Some of us are camping at Caddo Lake State Park. We have room for a few more campers if anyone wants to join us.

Let me know.

Re: Uncertain?Rendezvous Sidecar Rally Oct. 18-21, 2012

+1 on the thanks. Really appreciate you guys putting it together again. The family and I had a great time. Shelby and I took the long way home today and averaged 2 lake crossings per lake along the way.

Hope everyone will post up their pics when they have a chance.

In case anyone needs a place to eat in Quitman, the Texas Tearoom has some good grub. Fortunately, it has no resemblance to a tearoom.
