Hey Lonnie,

Met you and R-Man at the MX Nationals this summer. A buddy of mine suggested using a piece of plexiglass (purchased from Lowe's - they have small dimension pieces available), sticky back velcro. I had to offset the light housing, so the light would not touch the plexiglass. I drilled holes for ventilation. Neat thing is you can remove it easily for cleaning. If and when it ever gets trashed - make another. So far it has held up very well.

Re: HONDA XR650L OWNER'S SIGN IN

I have that exact headlight guard setup on my KTM and I hate to report that I have a busted headlight after ET 450 this weekend. Mine was 1/8 inch and I think it flexed to much, I may try 1/4 inch next.

My local Lowe's has two types available... One is tougher than the other and a wee bit more in price (claims not to crack or yellow easily). Both are about 1/8 + in thickness. The piece I have seems to be pretty tough. If you go 1/4 in., pretty safe bet that one will last a long time - and then some.

Re: HONDA XR650L OWNER'S SIGN IN

all right, I know its not a big bike or technically an XR (the CRF is exactly the same), but I added a new bike to the stable this weekend for my 7 year old. A 2008 CRF 70. The bike is in great condition. It has a few scratches on the side panel, and a few little ones on the left side case (due to being in the back of a truck for transport). It starts forist kick and carries my fat rear with no problem. I am going this wednesday to look at a 2007 CRF 50 for my 6 year old boy. I figure its gonna be a pretty good christmas/birthday celebration at the Hancock household this year. One birthday is on the 12/9 and the other is on 12/26.

You need to bring both of them next time to the lake and the whole family. I have been making some headway on the z50r.

Like Gary said 3 finished, don't forget the orange bike. Also only two DNF's and one DNS.

Myself and Steve being back at the KOA early afternoon got a head start on the beer and definitely helped deplete the coolers making them much lighter for the trip home on Sunday.

Tom at TCI is a really cool guy. Bet you could have called him and he would have sent an unpainted one that you could paint whatever color you wanted.

I also know a Honda that NEVER leaves the garage under a scooby blanket. When it is ridden (only 2 times a year), the odometer reads a total of 60 miles.
