Re: fast, reliable, light, cheap, dualsport
I just did a 500 mile round trip on my CRF250L on the super slab cruising 75mph. Great bike for the price.

Heh heh, that's where I am at! Bike #2. It's like a disease but fun, or an ugly girlfriend; fun but you're always looking to upgrade.

Re: fast, reliable, light, cheap, dualsport
"If i can keep my bike for a little while longer i will put up with topping out at an indicated 80mph i.e. 70+mph in reality.... regular trips between SA and Houston ...."
Off topic but just had to say the following. I just read the book "Ride Hard Ride Smart" by Hahn. I hope you have three degrees of separation from crashes and pain. The three degrees Han explained are a Defensive Riding Strategy, Really Good Riding Skills (take on road courses, read books), and Really Comfortable and Protective Gear!
