When Riding No Longer Thrills

Spotted today outside my local Wal-Mart

Obviously the poor soul no longer finds the excitement he once did in motorcycling. Might I recommend Russian Roulette...with a fully loaded pistol?

Is that a rear tire on the front?

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't ridden on a tire like that before. It probably wasn't quite that bad, but there were threads showing. I bought a set of race take offs, and the wear on the rear snuck up on me. Once I noticed it, though, I stopped riding on it.

Just ride a wheelie wherever you go.

I thought tire rotation was only for cars...

You should have left a note offering to buy his plastic beforehand. You could have turned a nice profit on ebay.

Squids today, what are you gonna do?

Maybe can't afford tires, or ignorant, or careless. Who knows. Hopefully doesn't end badly.

Re: When Riding No Longer Thrills

I draw a different conclusion.
That bike is in top shape. Factory turn signals, mirrors, bar ends, reflectors. No scratches, no broken tupperware. That rider has used 110% of those tires on all portions, not just down the middle. Maybe he did it at a track day, maybe he did it stunting or whatever. In any case, rider got some skilz.

Ok, there's also the possibility the ride is a total poseur and slapped some track day takeoffs on his bike to show off at Sonic.

If that's how the front tire looks, I'd hate to see what the back one looks like

Re: When Riding No Longer Thrills

You might be surprised by the careless attitude of many squids. I once rode with young group of 3 guys. One rode a Busa, one a CBR, and one a R1 throughout the ride they were going all hooligan way more than even I prefer. They were riding wheelie's at triple digit speeds, racing to near top end deep into the triple digits. Later on, we all pulled over to talk and take a break and I notice the wildest of the group on the R1's tires are literally down to the belt in the middle. I told him about it, he shrugged his shoulders and never let it even faze him and just kept up the suicidal tendencies. They were friends of some other riders I knew and I never rode with them again. I personally don't want to watch a kid needlessly splattered on the asphalt.

I support the Arkansas economy by riding in Arkansas, not shopping at Wal Mart... LOL

Re: When Riding No Longer Thrills

Rapid deflation heading his way. Not so bad when it's the rear but I would imagine fairly unsettling when it's the front.
