Re: Circuit of the Americas to host 2013 MotoGP

There's no pit access with GA tix. I just got 3 tix for JustJ and I, and the big kid. Little kid doesn't count for tix. Got Turn 15, Section 4, Row 20. Can't wait! Now, to find a place to stay that's quasi-kid friendly. 6th Street is probably out.

Re: Circuit of the Americas to host 2013 MotoGP

Anyone know if you do the $60 parking in one of the Red Lots if you can park a car or bike?

I don't know about the color lots but they told me that cars were $60 and bikes $30 for the entire weekend.

The way I read it, there were a few lots reserved exclusively for bikes; those were $30. The other lots were $60 and were either for bikes or cars.

Yep, I'm commited to MC parking now, rain or shine. That's the downside to getting the MC parking.

Re: Circuit of the Americas to host 2013 MotoGP

So how can you get pit access? Or is that just for special people only...? I don't mean garage access. But when I went to an NHRA event (drag racing) everyone could wander back in the pit area and watch teams work on their cars, bikes, etc,... It was VERY cool. Is there anything similar here or is access for seating and race viewing only?

Re: Circuit of the Americas to host 2013 MotoGP

I don't think pit access is available to us mere mortals, I don't recall that as an option for the race at Laguna but then I wasn't looking at the high dollar packages. Most US based race series see that as marketing, the Europeans tend to have a different view of what is marketable. Plus most of drag racing is hours of wrenching for a 5-6 second run.

Re: Circuit of the Americas to host 2013 MotoGP

By the way, I won't be doing any kind of TWT group buy on tickets. Too many folks are already buying their own GA tickets. I don't have the money to buy a bunch of reserved tickets upfront and then hope I can off load them later. Since folks can sit anywhere with the GS tickets, I figure maybe we can have a few TWT spots around the track. That will just be a matter of someone getting a good spot, hopefully someone that has one of the TWT banners, and claiming some ground so others can find them. I don't know if it is even possible to do a TWT parking area...

They did the opening laps today. There are some interesting pictures of the track that show just how much the elevation changes.

GA & parking plus a room at the La Quinta (thanks for the heads up). I have a nice B&B held in Bastrop too if someone would like to take it over & entice the significant other to tag along?

Re: Circuit of the Americas to host 2013 MotoGP

CoTA just posted this picture to their FaceBook page.
If you look close, you can see that the parking lots are labeled.

My motorcycle-only parking pass is for lot J. Nice and close to the track, but about half-way around from where I'd like to be to watch the race

Re: Circuit of the Americas to host 2013 MotoGP

Nice photo - thanks for posting this here.
My moto parking is in 'H'. Is the entrace at 'E' or 'D'?
'H' looks like a dirt field, so I guess this photo is a little dated....

For $69 you can snag a 3 day pass for the awesome Aussie V8 Supercars too! If you haven't seen these guys racing you're in for a treat, it's what NASCAR wishes it could be.

Re: Circuit of the Americas to host 2013 MotoGP

I just hope they have the traffic sorted out. I hate setting in stop and go on the bike.

I'm parked in H, with seating in Section 15, right in front of the S.

Lets go already.
