Bent Wheel Straightening

I'm the proud owner of a slightly bent rear FJR wheel thanks to road debris.

Anyone have suggestions for a D/FW area shop that can make repairs ? I see a few on the interwebs, looking for recommendations. I need it back to perfect and true. Thanks.

Re: Bent Wheel Straightening

I don't think anyone in DFW area does, that I know of. There's a place called Wheel Reapir, but I don't thnk they do bike wheels.

There are several places that advertise they do. Frame Straightening Service is said to be the best, as far as I know.

Re: Bent Wheel Straightening

Wheel Repair Solutions does not do M/C wheels. Excellent work on autos though.

Re: Bent Wheel Straightening

A couple of years ago, I was directed to Texas Tire & Wheel in Grand Prairie. I called & they confirmed that they do straighten MC wheels. I never followed up past that.

Re: Bent Wheel Straightening

Another "not in DFW that I'm aware of" but I bought a bike that came with a receipt for wheel straightening from Woody's Wheel Works in Denver, CO. The price was $160 per wheel back in April of this year.

Re: Bent Wheel Straightening

Frame Straight can probably make it right or better than new in runout. Repair with shipping is close to new.
A new OEM is $401.00. I need to do bearings too.
I never would have heard the bad bearing at this tire change if not for the brick in the road, maybe it's a fortunate circumstance.

Local shops are iffy on the phone, salvage yards for motorcycle parts seem rare. Peace of mind while screaming down the highway might be worth new components....what is scrap aluminium going for nowdays ?

Thanks for the replies gang.
