I don't know; I'm torn between 70's "glitter rock bans" and 60's "acid rock bans"

Re: The Craigslist Thread

Since none of those ads have phone numbers, I wouldn't trust any of them to be legit. I had an aunt with one of those parked out in her pasture. I'm sure the motor was shot or something but it was otherwise complete and in pretty good shape. I was only 15 so I didn't have any appreciation for it or I would have rescued that VW.

I never list my phone number and have sold 100% of the items I have listed on Craigslist.

Re: The Craigslist Thread

Not much mechanical needed, a well thumbed copy of "How To Keep Your Volkswagen Alive" should be all you need. Name another non-race car where you can drop the engine in 20 minutes? Crushing your legs & catching fire comes free with every one.

Not like parts aren't a) plentiful & b) cheap.

Of course, with 55mph being about the top speed it would take you about a day and a half to get to Big Bend.

Re: The Craigslist Thread

More like a dick actually - I ask these people, do you actually want to sell this thing?

It's Craigslist not the DuPont Registry!

I don't either and have never had a problem selling. As a general rule, if something's priced way low and there's no number I don't bother with it. If the item is reasonably priced and the only issue is no phone number then I'll email them.

Look beyond the bike at its surroundings. Should explain the owner.
