Greetings from Hill Country

Greetings, TWT. New to this forum and pretty darn new to dual sporting. Trying to reach back into the foggy recesses of the old brain to remember how I used to do it in the dirt 30 years ago. I think I'm catching on. Got an 05 KLR650 in the garage. Best of all, the garage points right out into the beautiful Hill Country. Looking forward to hitting some trails with this distinguished group. DD

Re: Greetings from Hill Country

Hey dirtdauber, welcome to TWT. I need to get over to your part of Central Texas and get you to show me the good routes. We need some good rides within reach of Austin, so if you have time to show me around, or post up your favorite roads, I'm interested.

This is street only, I don't want to get any dirt on my shiny bike.

Re: Greetings from Hill Country

Thanks for throwing out the Welcome Mat, folks. Scott, someone (maybe you) referenced TWT on KLR650.net. Rod, I love Bike Nites. I've got it on my calendar. You'll need someone like the DD to lay down a trail of mud thru the parking lot. David, I'm retired, so I can show you some good iddy-bitty roads I like in the HC. I can't drag pegs like a Thrux, but I love to ride anytime. Give me shout. 842 2112 (free from the Austin metro area.) DD (Tom Wiley)

Re: Greetings from Hill Country

Tom, I recall meeting you at the Cycle Wold Bike show last year, in Houston I believe. I think at the time you were bikeless. Good to see you got a KLR I still have the piece of paper with your email and name sitting right here in front of me, hehe. If you are ever itching to get over to East Texas for some fun, let me know

Re: Greetings from Hill Country

Yes, yes, yes, Scott. I do remember visiting with you. I think I had been talking to some folks from the A&M bike group, and they said I should talk to you. They found you and sent you to our booth. I'd love to get over your way and ride some. I've just got to remember to keep up with the forums and see when things are happ'nin. DD
