Wow! That's exactly the kind of trail my teenage son and I are looking for. Hope there are more like that. Just waiting for the drought restrictions to be lifted to book my cabin.

Those videos are deceiving though, shot about the same spot on the trail, there are plenty of rocks, especially on the Benson Ridge end. And the Russia Canyon side has a technical uphill near the start. I have to do some bike ferrying but the good parts are worth it.

There is a sign coming up the hill from Alamogordo on US82 with roughly the same message, year round.
The forest got rain last night, not much in town though, where it's monitored.
