I guess since Service Honda isn't building them any more, they can't claim the trademark on CR500AF. I got a comment from AJ Waggoner (original builder of the Service Hondas) when I posted a picture of my aluminum frame CR500 with radiator shrouds with CR500AF on them. People on CR500riders.com would chastise anyone with a aluminum frame CR500 for calling them AF, saying they were infringing on Service Honda's trademark even though Service Honda never actually filed for the trademark. Was really hard to sell this one:
