Thumbs up Motopia Cafe open in Dallas

Wanted to get the word out about the newly opened Motopia Cafe in Dallas. I went last night for a glass of wine and loved it. They are on Central Expwy, just south of Fitzhugh.

It's a great place to hang out, get coffee, beer, or food, and chat about bikes. The decor and design is amazing. You can take your laptop and get work done or surf the internet. They also do bike washing and detailing. It's a really nice environment and a great concept.

I had a chance to talk to the owner, Rene, as well. He is passionate about riding and wanted to have somewhere in Dallas where two-wheeled enthusiasts could have their own place.

For the record, I have no ownership stake in the place. I am just excited to find a place like this that caters to motorcyclists! Check out their website at http://www.motopiacafe.com

Re: Motopia Cafe open in Dallas

My co-worker and I have been there twice. It's a pretty nice place. You can get breakfeast, lunch, and dinner while you get your bike washed. Adam, who runs the service area, is planning on also doing tire changes, oil changes, chain replacement etc...

Adam does a great job at detailing bikes. For $30, he turned my filthy Bonneville into a showroom-condition bike again, despite having over 20000 miles of crud imbedded on it. It's been a long time since I've seen my co-worker's Daytona look so clean.

Re: Motopia Cafe open in Dallas

I visited today. The architecture and design of the building and interior is uber cool. Kind of the opposite of a typical biker bar.

Food was tasty and nicely presented. Even the china and bottled water are stylish. They make a nice cup of coffee.

Don't know that I understand the business concept, but I sure wish I had such good taste.

Re: Motopia Cafe open in Dallas

Thanks to my good friend n578md for taking these awesome pictures @ Motopia and my Daytona!
It is an awesome place. Far removed from the average bike meeting place. I hope Motopia gets the support it needs to stay in business.

Motopia Cafe in Dallas...

Well it’s January, and its 60'F, big sun, and 5mph winds....

What to do? Ride of course... I found this message on a forum talking about Motopia Cafe, located on the corner of Hwy 75 and Fitzhugh Rd, its the great little "walk out of what you know" into a nice modern, bright, lovely, cafe, hues that talk of South American place that you would find on your travels and talk about for a week. I think Motopia has the capability of becoming a "Perl" in its ideal concept...

Now... so when TST is doing a GTG and pay these fine folks a visit in a group ?

Re: Motopia Cafe in Dallas...

Very cool.. I'll have to head up there as well to check it out. A detail for $30?!?!?! That would be the best money I've ever spent on my Strom. And the guy doing it would probably shoot me for bringing it it to him!!! That thing is filthy!!

Re: Motopia Cafe in Dallas...

I believe the $30 is more of a wash. That's what I understood when I spoke with the detail guy there. That could also vary depending on the condition of the bike. At least that's my understanding. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

It is a very nice place. I may be working remotely from there at times since they offer WiFi

The boys looking over the rail.

We stopped by and had coffee yesterday. Pretty cool place. Could have a better parking area, but all in all it was a very nice place and we will go back. The staff was awesome. Read it all and see the pictures here.

Dave's Boxer Cup gets a bath and detail. very very nice!

The staff was friendly and nice! We will be back.

some would say this is our best side.. Till next time.. C-YA

Re: Motopia Cafe in Dallas...

That last pic reminds me of all the family reunions we had when I was a kid. There was always at least one picture of a bunch of men peering under the hood of someone's car.

"Yup. That's a V-8 all right."

+1

It's very hard for me to make the M&G since it has moved to West Plano. Long ways from the east side of the metromess in rush hour traffic.

Have been twice (Friday night and Sunday afternoon) and both times staff outnumbered customers. Staff was extremely friendly and polite.

I clean my own machines, but may reconcider if the cutie posing in previous post donned a bikini

Re: Motopia Cafe in Dallas...

Here is our initial Menu of Detail Services:

The Motopia Wash
$30 *

Detailed Hand Wash
Spray Wax
Clean Chain
Motopia's 10-Point Health Check
The Ultimate Detail
$125 *

Detailed Hand Wash
Hand Waxing
Low Speed Buff
Vinyl, Leather, Chrome and Plastic Cleaning and Conditioning
Engine Detail
Cable and Brake Line Detail
Instrument Cluster and Hand Controls
Deep Clean and Service Chain
Motopia's 10-Point Health Check

* - Prices are for average motorcycle size and condition. Additional charges may apply.

So, the way the swingarm and wheels look on my Rex, it'd be about $50

Maybe if I sweep up ,they'd do it for the $30
This could be a new place for lunch for me since I work in Downtown anyway, anyone else work in Downtown Dallas?
