Arkansas?
Any TWTEX folks gonna be up around Clarksville this weekend? I'll be headed out in about 2 hours from now. Staying at the illustrious Days Inn at Clarksville. If you're are around, give me a shout. I'll be in my white F250 truck and ridding the EX/C 525.

In case you have not been up that way in a while, there's a great new restaurant next to the Days Inn (used to be mexican). It's called the Pasta Grille, I believe. Good food.
Also, our last several trips, we have started staying off exit 55. There is a nice Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express there. Much nicer than that old Best Western and you get breakfast included at either. FYI...the Hampton has better beds! |

Re: Arkansas?
Just got back from 3 days of dual sport riding up there. Great weather. Looks like it's gonna be just as good for this w/e as well.

Re: Arkansas?
Albie, how were the water crossings? I looked at the radar when that last wave of storms came through and the areas around Clarksville and Russellville were getting hammered!!
Outside my office window here in Huntsville, it is 75 F, low humidity and clear skies right now. PERFECT riding weather!! If it were going to be like that in Arkansas this weekend, I would LOVE to be able to go. Alas... the foot is still in a cast for a few more weeks. Watching all these incredibly beautiful days slip away is killing me...

Re: Arkansas?
The crossings were high but manageable and the currents were a tad on the swift side but we stayed upright through them all. This was probably the most difficult one we hit:

Re: Arkansas?
Do we need to start a water crossing picture thread?

Re: Arkansas?
Just got back yesterday evening. I didn't take any pictures, but some of the other guys did. I'll post up some when I get my hands on them. Oh,and the water crossings.........
It wasn't the water,it was what was at the bottom, that you couldn't see. Like those melon sized rocks that like to change your direction in a flash!

Re: Arkansas?
I really liked the Days Inn at Clarksville, especially when the drunk college guys started jumping off the roof into their buddies arms Saturday night! And the rap music,at 110db,coming out of their vehicles was a nice touch especially late in the evening.
Oh,and the carpet in the rooms............I'd bet it's never been cleaned. You guys STOP parking your dirt bikes in the rooms. Every time I would walk bare footed in the room on the way to the shower, the bottom of the shower would turn black when I stepped in! ![]() I thought it was me,until I took a washcloth and wiped the floor with it. But then again...........what do you expect for $39.00 per night. Next time I'm gonna try something different. Fur sure! Thirty miles into the Friday ride.My first flat ever on a ride. Oh how much fun can a grown man have?
