I'm looking at the D700 due to using it for professional use otherwise, I wouldn't even consider dropping that amount of cash on a camera.

I just looked up what Belton is and probably not. I took several photography courses in high school and excelled in it. The teacher wanted me to get a Nikon F4 (at the time it was the SLR to have) and work on going pro (I was shooting with a Minolta X570 which I still have). She was also encouraging me to attend Brooks Institute of Photography in Cali. Various reasons, including cost factors, prevented me from pursuing that dream. Now that I'm done with college, Dee suggested that I take a second look.
