Slideshow Software?

Currently I use Adobe's Photoshop Elements or Premier for putting together slideshows with a music track. The output is 'acceptable' most of the time in a .wmv format for the computer and 'acceptable' when turned into a DVD. The DVD images when displayed are somewhat pixelated when displayed however. I'm also using high-res pictures in the process.

What software does a great job of allowing one to lay down a music track then sequence high-res photos to the music that has an output of both .wmv and can be dumped on a DVD? Also, it should be very compatible with Vimeo, YouTube etc. with the same good results.

Price point is also a consideration so I'm not looking for a truely professional package.

Any ideas? What do 'yall use and what are your thoughts on the results?

As monitors and televisions become higher quality, the lesser quality of my slideshows is now becomming obvious.

Thx

.

Can Picasa do smth like this? I only suggesting that because I find everything else about that software truly outstanding.

Re: Slideshow Software?

At work we use powerpoint (can get free reader) or a Mac program, the name of which escapes me, but can play in Quicktime.

I use Camtasia Studio at work. Its primary purpose is screen capture, but it produces some good quality video. Occasionally I will put images into PowerPoint, then capture them with Camtasia. Usually I do that when someone gives me a PowerPoint to work with, or when I want to use one of the PowerPoint backgrounds.

Re: Slideshow Software?

Picassa can do it, but only one mp3 file. So you have to do some magic to append some mp3s to last for the whole slide show. Or the song repeats.

On the Mac you can do it in iDVD and watch in Quicktime.
