Fatal crash in Plano

Be careful out there guys and gals. I lost a friend and co-worker on Friday. We both threw a leg over on Friday and headed home from work - he didn't make it home.
I don't know the details of what happened yet. It was on 75 at Legacy. So long Javier.

Re: Fatal crash in Plano

Thanks everyone. I wasn't going to post anything cause I didn't really want it to be about me and my loss. I just think these are good reminders to be careful.
Again, nothing is confirmed yet - but the initial story is that he was entering the HOV lane going southbound and someone swerved into the HOV lane. It knocked him off his bike and he went under the car.

Re: Fatal crash in Plano

Thank you.

It is a good reminder. We all need to be reminded of the possible danges out there and to be extra carefull when we ride.

I have learned that EVERONE has more rightaway than a motorcycle. We can always use reminders.

Thanks,

I hate these posts. Sorry to hear about your friend and coworker. I will definitely keep him in mind next time I throw my leg over my bike. You can never be too careful out there!

Unhappy Re: Fatal crash in Plano

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I take that same route almost every day and get on the HOV lane in that EXACT spot! Sent a shiver down my spine, I have reservations about the HOV lane to begin with, think now I will just go back to driving the cage, it's just not worth it!!!

Re: Fatal crash in Plano

Just to close this out... Went to a memorial yesterday. He rode with a club in Ft. Worth - they all showed up on their bikes with t-shirts made up with his picture on it. Big turnout of folks. Pretty neat.
It turns out the accident was his fault. It sounds like he was trying to duck into the HOV lane and didn't see the car coming. Stupid mistake and he knew better.
Anyway, thanks again for the kind words.
