Yeah RV popped right back up, that kid is fast.
I hope Kdubs makes into the main. Us old dudes don't bounce back like them youngens.

Is it just me, or does Barcia look like a pedophile with the stand alone?

So who all's going to the Houston SX? Q for those more informed than me, are they still doing the "Bring the Red Bull (or is it Monster) can for free entry into the pits"? Haven't been in a few yrs due to the work schedule but it looks like I'm gonna make it this year.

I'll be there.
I'm also planning on going up to Wild West Honda Friday night. The KTM team will be there.

I'll be there. I believe a Monster can gets you in the pits.
Have only missed 1 year since my first time in 1981.....2002 had a ticket but started feeling sick that day & didn't go.
My son Kyle raced in the 250 class in 2000 & 2001 & I really think I was sick that he wasn't in there. Injuries & lack of funds forced him out. He was only 16 in 2000 & raced his last SX in Las Vegas 2001 just a couple of weeks past his 18th birthday.

Re: Supercross 2012: the official thread [may contain spoilers]

I read where James Stewart will be racing Houston. Like him or not with all the attrition in the 450 class this year he should bring additional excitement to the class, & only one of a handful with the potential to win. That group to me is Villopoto, Stewart, Brayton, Windham, & Millsaps.

Windham all but had it won last year. I would love to see him pull it out this year & notch another win his belt. As each race passes he knows with the level of competition now & new riders coming up his odds on of getting another one are not improving. He has really been running a great pace over the last few races & he is wise & confident enough in his abilities to pull it off. He needs a great start & maybe some good luck to offset the bad luck he had last year.

Awesome race tonight!
This was my first event to attend and it won't be my last.

Poto sealed up the championship tonight, what with Stewart crashing out ( no surprise there).
Sucks for K-Dubs getting hurt in the heat, he was flying out there. It was so awesome hearing the crowd go crazy every time he passed Stewart back.

Roczen took his first win , love seeing orange up top even (especially) if meant Barcia crashed

Barcia wins the doosh of the year award. A lap rider made a mistake and crashed taking him out for long enough to allow Roczen to win. The poor kid is laying on the ground just off the track, he looks like he's in major pain. Barcia comes back to yell at him and them roosts him when he leaves. He then throws a tantrum off the track. I dislike him (and his stupid moustache) more than any other racer

Great race!! Yep, I bet we spent 45min just sitting in the parking lot trying to get out of there, then another 100 miles getting home, just walked in the door. Oh the things we do for fun! Pics later.

Don't forget they'll be replaying the race tomorrow (today Sunday) at 11AM on CBS and the Lites at 12 on Speed.

Looks like Barcia is getting fined for his little meltdown

Barcia got back up and finished second, and then went into a public meltdown, roosting race winner Ken Roczen (who had no part in the Vincent incident) and then circling back around to Vincent, who was still laying on the track being attended to by Asterisk Personel, specifically Dr. John Bodnar. Barcia roosted Vincent but got Bodnar as well. Later, Barcia went to tears on the podium.

The genesis of the fine came from the roosting Asterisk personel, but the fine was levied not just for that specific moment, but for Barcia's actions as a whole after the race.

What a spoiled little brat. Is he a good rider, sure. But does being a good rider give someone an excuse for acting like that? Heck no!

Barcia is a [whiner], plain and simple and we all laughed at his tantrum. The crash was just as much his fault because he had slowed just a bit.

Re: Supercross 2012: the official thread [may contain spoilers]

I could almost understand if that incident had cost him the championship. But, he still finished second, and still has over a race lead in the championship. Shame on him.

Bottom line though, I'm surprised this kind of stuff doesn't happen more often. Most of them are still kids, not even 20 years old. They're expected to act like mature adults, but that's not always the case. The fine almost wasn't necessary. He'll take plenty of media and public punishment for that one.

The thing is, he almost cost Dungey a race in the 450 outdoors last summer, and certainly would have cost him the championship since he and RV were so close. Now Dungey didn't win the championship but that would have been the difference.

I'll add to that, when I was a kid playing sports (baseball, football, soccer), sportsmanship was always emphasized. I can't tell you how many times I hear, "it's not wether you win or loose, but how you play the game."
Now I realize these kids are under more pressure than I was playing soccer in college, but its something that should be trained in at a young age, and it appears that he missed that along the way.
