I just got a Ural Gear Up. I thought it was going to be harder to ride than it is. I am considering taking it, and it sounds like it would work out just fine. Especially if I leave the 100# of corn in the sidecar.........

Any opinions?

Bring your Ural and I'll ride my slower 250. I'll know at least one person I can ride faster than and I will not have that fear of being left behind.

I vote you bring the Ural too. I think it will be just fine, you get cool points for riding it, plus I really want a picture of you riding it across the James River. You can even get bonus cool points if you carry a cooler with cold, refreshing beverages in the side car to quench our thirst during the ride.

Now, to ride down? Trailer down? Take an extra day and take a mini tour? Modern Problems........

I would suggest 80lbs of beer and 20lbs of ice to keep the handling familiar.

Finally have vacation approved for April, sleeping arrangements paid for, registration sent in, bike is almost ready. Fired up for my first adventure ride in the hill country. Let er rip !

How hard is it to plan all your rides with only left turns? Did I hear that Ural makes an app for that?

For this year's challenge we are riding a clockwise loop from Junction to Del Rio and back to Junction.

I had all but given up on going to the TAR or TAC since Saturday the 21st will be my youngest sons 18th birthday. My oldest son wisely suggested that the family all go to Austin on Saturday and play golf to celebrate. It took me all of 2 seconds to embrace that idea and suggest that I could ride at the TAR on Friday and Saturday and still get back to Austin for Golf on Saturday.

Now my question, are there any rooms left for Wednesday and Thursday night?

I'm in Austin, but planning on leaving around noon on Thursday, probably right after lunch at Billy's. Anyone wanting to join me is, of course, welcome. I don't have a route yet, but I'm not necessarily looking to go the most direct way...
