Re: Post your Day Rides Here!
My friend Maurice and I did a Lone Star Track days event at Texas World Speedway last Friday, but I am not talented enough to take pictures and ride at the same time. I had great time. Weather was perfect. Very few crashes. We didn't get enough riding in (do we ever) so we went on a street ride to Washington on the Brazos(WOB). Ronnie Lunsford from Northwest Honda organized the ride to benefit the pediatric brain tumor Ride for Kids. Good job Ronnie and crew. We rode down to WOB from College Station.
I had this ride report nearly done when my computer locked up so I am going to post in stages. If it happens again, maybe all will not be lost. The Brazos River is still very high ![]() Mo between his Tuono and my Mille ![]() There were some sport car guys at WOB ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm not sure this would be classified as a "real" sport car, but he was driving with them ![]() I must have lost the picture of the Lotus. It was there. Not everything that's labeled sport is actually sporty ![]() ![]() When I was a child of around 11 or 12, my goal was to pick 100# of cotton in a single day and make $2.00. Thankfully, we moved away from the cotton growing areas and I never accomplished my goal. Our first president's children did better. ![]() I couldn't get my camera to focus on the star inside the visitor center. Perhaps it was the sunlight coming in from the rear of the star. Anyway, all attempts failed and this is the best. ![]() The line was long with 175 in attendance ![]() There were biker dudes ![]() There was a fast cutting dude ![]() And, there was my beautiful niece

Re: Post your Day Rides Here!
Blue bonnets were everywhere
![]() People were taking pictures of people taking pictures of people sitting in fields of bluebonnets. That’s a lot of “people” in one sentence. ![]() Not all beautiful flowers are bluebonnets. This thistle type flower was in full bloom. ![]() Lots of interesting bikes, but none so much as this one. ![]() It had custom highway pegs. ![]() Custom drink holders? ![]() Custom tool tubes under the bags. ![]() ![]() They had snap on lids ![]() It had been everywhere man. ![]() ![]() The owner. A little excentric? Yes. Also very knowledgeable. I liked him immediately. ![]() We finished up the day with a ride back to Texas World Speedway where I got to visit with many friends including Zac Chapman.

Re: Post your Day Rides Here!
Wow great stuff lately guys, incredible flowers this spring and very nice to see a shot of Mr. Chapman.
Got the little video of me riding through the canyon but cell phone cameras just can't do it justice. Last edited by Coolhand; 03-28-2012 at 01:40 AM. |

Mark those flowers are pretty, but on the news they say it is an evasive weed that is crowding out the blue bonnets and other low laying flowers, and they say it is almost impossible to control.

Nikoleta's first long ride. We saw Billie Joe Shaver in Luckenbach last Sat. and in the morning rode 16 through Kerrville and to Bandera to eat at one of my favorite Messican places. Pic was taken just after they closed.

Re: Post your Day Rides Here!
Folks -
Been a big panic on my end trying to get the bike put back together before my bro showed up last Saturday after a pretty severe maintenance discovery. This is how it looked around midnight on Friday... ![]() Thankfully I busted butt on it and got it put back together by Saturday afternoon, in time to go skiing on Sunday. Bonding in some 316SS 6mm Nylock nuts solved one of the issues... ![]() We finally got out for some fun on Tuesday morning, temp starting out in the upper 30s lower 40s. Scrounged some gear up from Brian Price at Atomic Moto and another local dirt biker who runs dualsportalchemy.com (and who I'd never even met!) Dirt people are darned friendly! My bro makes my 450 EXC look like a 250. ![]() Speaking of gear, it didn't take long to start shedding it once we hit the singletrack... ![]() Taking a little break, although I didn't know he was napping... ![]() Pretty impressive along here... ![]() And lots of fun! ![]() This is the problem with spring time riding in the forest ![]() No I didn't Graham Jarvis the thing. ![]() Little help here? ![]() All in all a darned good ride. We tried to push up the forest service roads to Tumalo Falls but started hitting a lot of snow, turned tail and ran for town. ![]() Grabbed an excellent lunch at Brother Jon's and then hit the Tasting Room at Boneyard Beer for a yummy sampler...

Went out riding with my buddy Paul we took The Vmax and his Suzuki C90T and headed out to Lake Whitney,TX . Came back via Fm roads to Cleburne TX and then we split ways he went hm to Dallas I I rode 35 all the way to Denton.
Quite a gorgeous day and an awesome ride with good scenery along the way. NO special camera just the phone so excuse the low resolution...

Re: Post your Day Rides Here!
Was able to ride from Thorndale to Lampasas today, took some familiar roads through Detmold, San Gabriel,
Davila, cut through Bartlett, Schwertner to Jarrell, Florence, and found some great country roads between Florence and Joppa and north to Lampasas, especially 224, 211,210, 200, 272, and 207 which heads north and becomes Lampasas cty. #4006. Also really enjoyed 208, which cuts off 207 and heads east to 183. Forgot how pretty 121,124, 126, 127 are north of Jonah, with the wheat fields just blowing in the breeze!!! Of course I forgot my camera.....so NONE of it really happened!!!

Re: Post your Day Rides Here!
I rode around in circles on a Q-Link dual purpouse motorcycle, 200cc of thumper craziness.
I had my camera, but never got pics, so it didn't happen either. Even though the bike was a KTM wannabe. ![]() I'll get some pics of the bike tomorrow though.
