It's no different out here. I remember as a teenager driving through darkness from Phoenix to Tucson, but now there are lights from homes just about the entire way between them.
 
downtown S A is a bit confusing but other than that there is no construction.
I H 10 at loop 1604 west, is a real mess with miles of construction. if you were to by-pass S A by going loop 1604 around town, you would still hit the construction on the west side on I H 10.
either way, it sucks!
just be careful, S A leads the nation in drunk drivers,stupid drivers and road rage drivers.
