Seattle 2016

Question, the copyright changed hands?
:ponder:

Data in the picture should be correct. The plugin I used to export it automatically updated that. I'll probably just delete it since Jennifer has seen it now.

Jennifer, I downloaded your pic and did a couple of things. Gradient filter to lower exposure on darker clouds, dehaze filter. Changed the color temp slightly. And cropped to remove some of the ocean and leveled the horizon. Overall, it is not radically different, but a little lighter and bluer. Is that kind of what you were thinking? I think pictures should be close to what you remember seeing most of the time.

Thanks! I am still using Photoscape X and have not learned all the tools yet. I like the way the water looks better in your version. I did a few adjustments based on Tracker's feedback as well.

Jennifer

yes, I think better. the ocean/sky image seems a little too dark overall, maybe?

One of the things Mark really had his heart set on was rowing a boat from the Wooden Boat Center. So, on July 8th we headed north to Camano Island and
Cama Beach State Park where one of the Wooden Boat Centers is located. The drive was beautiful as was the park, but the wind was such that they were not letting the row boats out for the day. We wandered the beach and I got some photos of the boats. They were in a storage building and most were hanging so the angles are interesting.

You can see the wind here ...

Love the detail in these old boats. You can see one of the reasons they don't want them out in the wind is to keep them protected.

This one is a little on the "artsy" side as Not Dave would say.

More on Cama Beach State Park later. We spent a good part of the day there hiking.

So, I have struggled with this photo. The canoe was hanging upside down and there are a lot of distractors in the background. The wood used in making the boat is too beautiful not to share ...

There was a cafe in the State Park at Cama Beach and the waitress told us people come from all over for the sandwiches. I admit I was skeptical, but OMG! The bread was focaccia, but different from anything I have had here. It was soft and fluffy and oh so flavorful!

After we ate a big lunch we had to go hiking :)

I loved the woods, scenic views of the sound, and green everywhere!

I think my body temp dropped a degree just looking at those pics. thanks for sharing.

We decided since we were north we should go ahead and travel up and around to Whidbey Island. We stopped at Deception Pass ... so beautiful!

There was a rope pathway out into the rocks to highlight the sea anemone ...

The (almost) black rocks and blue water with clouds coming in was gorgeous.

Heading for the mountains was the plan for July 9th. We had been told Snoqualmie Falls would be a great place to visit so we headed there on our way to Leavenworth.

It was raining when we arrived, but not enough to keep me from getting the camera out.

I loved watching the clouds come down the mountains.

I didn't take my camera as we set off in Leavenworth because lunch was first on the agenda. Never made it back to the car to get it ... oh well. Only one picture.

We stopped on the way out of town to explore a river running along the road.

We could feel the temperature change just by being close to the water.

Further along the road, we stopped at a mountain pass just to glory at the trees, mountains, and beautiful afternoon.

Later in the afternoon, we stopped at a "picnic area" called Deception Falls. There were nice trails along the creek/river and the green was amazing! It was cool, there were some sprinkles, and we just enjoyed wandering around along the water.

The falls were on one side of the HWY and crossed under for more falls and beautiful water ...

On Sunday we set out to the ferry from Edmunds with the intention of crossing the bridge and heading out to the Olympic National Forest. Unfortunately for us, the drawbridge got stuck and we had to drive ALL the way around. Long trip in the car!

We stopped at the Mt. Walker lookout along the way.

We spent the morning wandering the beautiful Washington Park and Arboretum near the university in Seattle. Here are a few of my favorites.

This flower reminded me of a bluebonnet with rich purple colors.

Walked right under this and almost missed it until I heard the buzzing.

I have no idea what kind of tree this is, the bark looked almost like copper.

Our next stop was the Center for Wooden Boats in downtown since Mark didn't get to take out a boat at Cama Beach. I was fascinated by the boats, the wood details, and the water.
