now that I've got my horn mounted (horizontal), I've read/heard that Stebel recommends not mounting it more than 15 degrees off vertical, or it will cause premature failure. :-( However, just about every install I've googled shows in mounted with the compressor in a horizontal plane.

So, all you Stebel compact horn folks, how is yours mounted and how long have you had it? Anybody had theirs fail mounted greater than 15 degrees out of vertical?

- mounted > mostly vertical, aligns with the front forks

- failure > not yet (12months and counting)

- I think the vertical recommendation is primarily to avoid water intake and ingesting insects/bug/bats/turkey buzzards and the like <g>

- just put it on a blast away. If it craps out in a year, whack on another one.

only had it on about 2 weeks, no problmen yet, but mine is mostly vertical

Mine is mounted vertically (per Stebel's instructions) and I haven't had any problems.
