The ultimate motorcycle rock song

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9SN4bGnvoc"]Blue Cheer - Hello LA, Bye Bye Burmingham (US 1969) - YouTube[/ame]

Blue Cheer "Hello L.A. Bye Bye Birmingham"

Blue Cheer were ****'s Angel's pet band back in the day.

They were so loud, we used to say they turned the air into cottage cheese.

I don't listen to music on the bike, and none of these songs are about riding, but if I did, and if they were, then:

Tom Russell - [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cwh-h6pHN1Y"]Tonight We Ride[/ame]
The Cure - Lullaby (find myself humming this on quiet mornings before or during sunrise)
Rammstein - Der Meister (for riding balls out)
KMFDM - MegaLo and Light
Puscifer - The Mission (when riding the "hood") Horizon or Momma Sed (when in the middle of nowhere with nature and my thoughts) The Humbling River is pretty good too.
Tool - H (when heading home to my family)
VNV Nation - Epicentre
Guy Clark - Hemingway's Whiskey (one of the songs that always put my son to sleep, I find myself humming or singing it in my helmet from time to time)
Sawyer Brown - The Walk
Charlie Robison - Photograph
Jason Boland - Rich, Young, Dumb Nymphomaniac (just for comic relief)
Skynyrd- Simple Man

I like Johnny Rodriguez when I'm near Junction on the KLR.....
"Riding my thumb to Mexico"....
but Austin is more like Zeppelin's 27 minute Dazed and Confused...:sun:

Another favorite road song of mine is:

Red Ball Texas Flyer by Jerry Riopelle

You've probably never heard of him unless you've spent time in Arizona.

I am sure I am probably the only one on this forum that listens to dubstep/electronica while riding. It helps me 'meditate' better :rider:

I listen to mostly harder/faster stuff, but feel that electronic music suits that meditative mood while riding quite well. I like to listen to M83 for that (anything off of "Saturdays=Youth" or "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming"). I've also been jamming Purity Ring's "Obedear" and Grimes' "Oblivion" lately for poppy/dancy electronic stuff with girl vocals...

In response to some of the other posts in this thread, I agree that "Unknown Legend" by Neil Young immediately came to mind. Also, anything by Motorhead is appropriate as well. "Jesus Built My Hot Rod" by Ministry ALWAYS gets my blood pumping, and so does "Black Sunshine" by White Zombie (which hadn't been mentioned yet)...

Some more suggestions of more recent music that makes me want to haul *** are:

"Black Thoughts" by OFF! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZ9dyfQt7k4"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZ9dyfQt7k4[/ame]
"God Hates Us All" by Slayer [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdrBP-Rq-J0"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdrBP-Rq-J0[/ame]
"Friends In The Music Business" by Cursed [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-l2hi9W9xQ"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-l2hi9W9xQ[/ame]
"Hi-Lites" by Hot Snakes [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKINESJhWO0"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKINESJhWO0[/ame]
"Scapegoat" by Kylesa [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMnTQE68Xts"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMnTQE68Xts[/ame]

I could go on and on, I guess I'd better stop now... :sun:

Perfect Strangers - Deep Purple

Man on the Silver Mountain - Rainbow

I used to have a play list but got bored listening to the same songs over and over, even if it did go for several hours before hearing a repeat. Now I listen to Slacker Radio or Pandora.

Priest's Desert Plains, yes indeed. Heading Out To The Highway also.

AC/DC's Girl's Got Rhythm.
Billy Idol's remake of L.A. Woman and his own Blue Highway and Speed.
Boston's Hitch A Ride.
Chuck Berry's Maybellene.
Commander Cody's Hot Rod Lincoln.
George Thorogood's Highway 49.
Golden Earring's Radar Love
Iron Maiden's Run To The Hills.

. Enjoy.

I'm on board with you, great choices.

thin lizzy- cowboy song
stealers wheel- stuck in the middle with you

for a slow ride.... zona jones- harleys and horses

I know this is an old thread, but, if y'all are still on this site, you'll see this. I was reading everyone's replies, and I think most of y'all will, at least, have mentioned one song that's on one of my main riding playlists. They're also on YouTube Music. Just look up my username and the playlist titles.

This one is different and geared more toward, but not limited to, sport bike riders. It's for night riding.

Here's my patriotic riding playlist for going to a patriotic event, or going on a memorial ride for fallen soldiers. It's basically a mix of songs from my main patriotic playlist and my main riding playlists. Feel free to send pictures of bikers or just bikes in a patriotic (or memorial) atmosphere. I want playlist cover art that I find fitting.

I have a couple of very small, in progress playlists that will take a long time to fill out, because I'm already kinda strict with what I add to playlists, but the criteria for these are even more specific. They only 3 and 5 songs on them. If anyone's interested in seeing those, too, let me know.

Since I listen to these on Spotify, I have them ready to listen to, from the press of a button, right on my home screen (shown in the picture).

Yesterday, I figured that I'd try to make another way, so I made a couple routines, with my Google assistant. I don't know how iPhones or other assistants work, but you can do this and what's shown above, on Android phones.
Here's what I did.

Well, I hope y'all like something here.

I don't personally use iTunes, but for those that do - is there a way to create a playlist that can be (paid for and) downloaded as a group? What about a "recommended by" list that you can pick and choose from to download?

Hi, Squeaky

I have a message from the future. Ha, ha

You or someone else might consider starting a collaborative community or thread riding playlist. I know that you can make them on Spotify, but you can also make them on YouTube Music, which pretty much everyone has access to, since most people have YouTube accounts. If you have Spotify, it would be a good idea to make it on both, since some people have subscriptions to one or the other, and you can download playlists for offline play (on both).

I have one from the past. Ha ha. Very lo tech here, drives my awesome new techie neighbor nuts.
I get a file of mp3 or wav. music and assemble it all in Audacity, a free and very capable mixing platform.
Edits, crossfades, all that stuff is really easy on that thing, then export it as an mp3 and put it on a player.

My first line, about the future, is actually in reference to my comment in general, because the thread is so old.
I don't have access to my music on disc, though I it, or most of it, uploaded to Google Play Music (now YouTube Music). I don't know anything about Audacity, but it seems like a good option. The only issue is that I wouldn't have access to all of the other songs that I have on my playlists, if I only relied on that method. It would be nice, eventually, to buy all the songs that are in my Spotify riding playlists, at least, and probably with some other playlists. There are so many songs that I wouldn't have discovered, if I didn't have Spotify, and even YouTube Music, though. I've expanded my music taste, a little, but I've expanded my music library so much more. Along with the music streaming service, there's also a community dedicated to it, where you can find and share songs, artists, and playlists. You can also submit ideas for the application, as well as get help with the application. There's a feature that some people might like for group rides. It's called "Group Session", and it's where 6 people (total at the moment) can listen to the same thing, together. This is with a premium subscription, though. I just thought I would would share some helpful stuff.

Here is one that me and some high school mates put together 50 some years ago after seeing Easy Rider. Since they aren’t around, I had to play all the guitars and program the drums for this sub par recording.

The first time that I rode a Goldwing was the first time I listened to music on a bike. I went through a curvy subdivision and decided to turn on the radio. ZZ Top's LaGrange was jamming and I thought that had made it to heaven from the ride and the music.

Just listened to this, How come I've never heard of him till now. Just another example of great music being played by people that don't get run on the radio which is why I don't listen to the radio.
