The Sam Houston Trails Coalition has taken over maintaining the multi-use trails (MUT) in the Sam Houston National Forest.
WE NEED YOU, the trail user, TO HELP! The coalition web site now has the MUT maps posted & a chart dividing it into sections.
Please go to the web site http://trailscoalitionoftexas.org/ and adopt a section.

You duties as a trail marshal will be to keep the trail clear, cut back face slappers, repair minor erosion spots, report major erosion spots, and report downed trees, if you do not have chain was license. Your section should be marshaled at least twice a year at a time selected by you. Get your trail user friends to adopt an adjacent section & make a fun time out of the work.

You do not have to be a coalition member to maintain trails, but we would love to have you join us. Your $10.00 menbership fee will go to trail work. You can join via PayPal on the web site or with the attached membership form.

All Trail Users:

Helping built you new trails is very easy; just go to our web site http://trailscoalitionoftexas.org/ and click the [DONATE] button.

The Sam Houston Trails Coalition (SHTC) will soon kick off construction of the first new multi-use trails in the Sam Houston National Forest in over in 13 years. The SHTC has two Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grants from Texas Parks & Wildlife for the Richards-Raven Trail Network consisting of both multi-use & equestrian trails. The SHTC needs all trail users help to prepay for the layout & construction. The coalition must send paid invoices to TP&W; then the grant money will be used to reimburse the SHTC less 20% in matching funds.

The SHTC must provide a 20% match in cash or in kind volunteer labor. The problem is all work must be prepaid before RTP grant money is disbursed. That's where you, the trail users, come in. The coalition needs your donation to build our seed money fund.

The SHTC is a 501(c) (3) corporation.
