Iron Butt Rally 2015

Efficiency is what long distance riding is all about. In a rally, a certificate ride or just going on a trip. Each time the Iron Butt rally it runs the points per mile efficiency ratio for placing in the top will change. In 1999 George Barnes won with a sum 4 points per mile .
When I rode in 1999 my ratios was 2.57 points per mile . In 2001 it was 13.2 per mile . I rode a better rally in 2001 but the bonus point value was greater also .
My opinion is Will Barclay underestimated the difficulty of the rally after coming from 2 hoke hay contests .

I have been using E Z tour covers for at least 10 years and recommend them . The covers pack up into a small bag which is provided . They are made in Oregon by the owners . Had a warranty issue with one and the outcome satisfied me .

Sometimes those motorcycle covers can act like a sail and cause a bike to tip over during heaving windstorms.

I use the the Traveller model it's their half cover model . But good point on using them in high wind .
