But by 1100, it was blue skies, sunshine and pleasant temps.

Loving that last picture. Is that a county road? I might have to go run that route once SXSW is over.

Looks like I'm missing a fun ride, hope everybody is safe and having fun.

Just got home.

What an awesome two days of riding.

Can’t thank Sander enough for putting together such an excellent route and keeping happy a large group with a variety of bikes and (ahem) skill levels from basic (me) to those that i only occasionally saw their dust. :-)

Such as William , kman and the speed crew. Those guys made it look easy.
While sander escorted us and opened gates. Thank sir for such a great weekend of the hill country!

How'd the mighty Strom do?

How'd the mighty Strom do?

It kicked my butt. Stayed vertical the whole time. With our new tires it's a pretty stable platform , just avoid those muddy ruts, on a mud hole the first day I did the spaghetti twist and just about lost it when that weight and front end started oscillating...but I recovered.

Should have come, it was a monster. Sander set up a clinic of everything associated with motorcycling. (no sand, thank God). feel like I earned my degree.

Sander...Yes, I spanked the Strom pretty hard, I hope there's no internal bleeding . Needs a wash just to find out (the both of us).

PS, I also discovered how you mentioned to "steer" that front end with acceleration. Shut off the traction control today and found out.

3 Oh is already washed and dried and snoozing under his blankie. I took the waterhose and a brush to my boots. Shoulda taken a pic of them-completely coated in dried mud.

now that was some FUN stuff! a little rain, some mud on Saturday followed by "hero" dirt on Sunday, lots of sunshine, great riding, and good folks...huge thanks to Sander for all the hard work in putting this together

Water crossing outside of Junction.

What an excellent Adventure. Conditions were close to perfect, Routes were fantastic and the everyone was great! Huge thanks to Sander for putting this monster ride together. I have a ton of video and will post as I get a chance to go through and edit. Thanks to William for leading our group on day 2. I took our group off course to go down Seco Creek rd. from the 470 side. Unfortunately, they gated it with a keypad. Scratch one more great road off our riding list.

I rode saturday. Thanks sander for putting this on. So fun to ride the Hill Country and meet other dedicated riders. Thanks to Gina, JT and Tom for adopting me (again). I was on my trusty 52k 650 vstrom and very happy we hit dirt roads after the rain had let up and sun started to shine. Riding here is so very different from Michigan!!!!!! So nice to meet and ride with locals! Bryan and I held up the 650 Vstrom marque with pride. :sun:

Thanks for an awesome ride guys. I had a great time. Only shook two screws out of the KLR this time. If you found them let me know. ;)

Some pictures from Day 1. Wet in the morning, but sunny by noon. If it wasn't for RG's discreet post in the "Upcoming Rides" thread, I wouldn't have attempted 4 Mile Rd.
