I would love to get a GPS for the bike but money doesn't allow it right now. But I do have the good possibility of using a Magellan Roadmate 700 (I think) that work purchased about a year ago.

so my questions are these:

Are these waterproof? or does somebody make a case/cover that I can put over it?

How would be the best way to power and mount the unit on my VFR?

Thanks in advance.

Nathan:
I use a Roadmate on my SV650.
It is not water proof, so I carry a zip bag in case of rain.
Found the connector with cable at Radio Shack.
I used a RAM (ball) base mounted on the bike and the Roadmate adaptor is also attached to another 'ball base'. The two are joined with a clamp which allows fixing it in the right position / angle.
Visit ram-mount.com for ideas and maybe these pictures will let you see how I did it…
Hope it helps.
