Saturday morning at 2:20 am My father past away. He has been sick for the past year and could never quite get better. It just kept getting worst and worst. I knew a few weeks ago things were not “good” when he told my son “goodbye” . I was by his side.

My sister and I are still have a few things we need to work out but most everything is set.

We will have a memorial for dad, after the memorial I am working with a few of the blue knights (law enforcement motorcycle group) to help take him to the grave site. Dad was a proud biker and proud member of the group.

The ride will take us from Granbury to Rising Star where he will be laid to rest with his mom and dad and just under mile from the back door of the house where he was raised.

I myself is still unsure if I will ride in the ride. I would like to but I am going to be realistic and keep it unknown till the time gets here. I know I need to do it but just unsure if I can.

If anyone here would like to join the ride I can post of dates and times when we have them.

My family thanks you..

Chris.

I just saw that this is right next to the request I did for mom. As you can tell the past yr has not been a good one for me. Yes it dose look like I will loose my Father and my Mother in the same week.

No they were not married. They have been divorced for 25 yrs or so and have not "talked" in 20 yrs. They did live less then a mile from each other.

I was told yesterday that Dad had to get there before mom, If not Mom would be waiting there with St Peter and raising all kinds of trouble as to not let him in.

I'm sorry Chris. Don't feel like you have to ride, only you will know for sure. But if you do want to do the ride, just let me know and I'll be right there behind ya.

Prayers sent. Do what feels right in your heart.

I wonder if you might find more comfort in watching the riders honoring your father rather than being one of the riders. Just your existence is an honor to your father.

My prayers are with you.

My condolences, Chris; I lost my Dad over five years ago and still miss him a lot!

But remember he will always be with you!

Cheers! M2

My condolences and my prayers go with you. This is never easy.

God bless Chris, sounds like he was a great Dad.

Please post the times. I work most of the week but if I can get away I'd love to ride.

So sorry for the loss of your dad. Mine left me 9 years ago but I feel him on my shoulder when I ride. Maybe you will ride or maybe you won't but he will be with you no matter what.

I'm sorry Chris....

A friend from high school went through the same thing a few weeks ago, only two days apart.

Praying for you and your sister and your families.

I'm with BeemerBob, it might be a nice rememberance to see them ride in procession instead of being in it. Regardless, I'm sure your dad would be happy at the sight.

My condolences. May you be strong to get through this.

Is this your dad, Chris?

To My Fellow BK Brothers and Sisters,

We have had one of our members, Ken Stewart, TPWD Game Warden-retired, pass away and move on to Heaven One today, 4/9/11.

His family plan on having a memorial service here in Granbury and then final resting place in Rising Star. The family has asked that any law enforcement officer going to the memorial service to please come in their law enforcement uniform. They have also requested an escort to Rising Star from the Blue Knights with BK colors being displayed. A time and date has not been set for either service. I will pass this along as I get it.

Yes, Janet that's dad.. I should have a firm time and date tomorrow. But its looking like Monday at 10am.

Chris, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your sister.

I am so sorry to hear this, Chris - I lost my mother and my husband the same week in 2004. As bad a week as it was for me, I'm pretty sure it wasn't so great for them either.

Take a deep breath & one day at a time. They say the good Lord never gives us more than we can handle, but sometimes you gotta wonder...

Prayers and sympathy Chris.

Think twice about participating in the ride procession.

If you are at all inclined to emotion, once the ride starts, you may become overwhelmed with emotion and not be able to focus on riding.

This will be a day to celebrate the life of your Dad. Celebrate in safety.
