RG I saw Willie Nelson about that time in Odessa, after the Shotgun Willie album came out. I was a junior in high school. There was only a couple of hundred people there. I saw him about a year later and the place was packed. Asleep at the Wheel opened for him the second time, Ray Benson had a broken leg.

As per the subject title to this thread....then I'd say NO for me.

I play bass guitar in the Houston/Humble/Kingwood area in about 5 bands at last count. I'm booked weekends with gigs since Oct 31 thru Dec 2nd. This usually means I get home about 3am-4am depending on the venue location. And I'm usually draggin butt the Sat or Sun morning after a gig.

Some bike friends, a TWT member or Nextdoor.com acquaintance have invited me on weekend morning rides since I bought my '11 "Oui" this past February. But I'm just not ready to roll out that early after a long nite of giggin.

Now, I'm 59 and don't play in loud rock bands anymore. Mostly now, country, blues, R&B, etc bands only. But these gigs take alot of energy and I mostly feel like just sitting n watching alot of football come Sunday.

So since I'm retired from my square job, I try to get in some weekday, mid-morning rides on my own. Usually an hour at most, then back home. Most my playmates are still at work at that time. I had to get my "Oui" inspected last month, so got one short ride in Oct.

So yeah; no. Music just don't go with me n motorcycling. And no, I don't want to hear music when I do ride, I like to listen to anything but music while I ride. I mute my phone and carry it zipped up in my riding jacket. But I rarely ride, so there's that. I will make more riding time soon. peace y'all, e.

Now, you had to be digging deep to find that. Now since I am doing the same, poking around around for some "new" songs for my band to jam on, check this out: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjxsESf0N20"]Richie Sambora - Livin' On A Prayer (Acoustic) - YouTube[/ame]

nah, shameless copy/paste from another board.

That was ******! Sometimes the stripped down acoustic version just works.

Try this on for size

Well, just goes to show you that old guys can still sound good, even if they play a bit more old style country than I'm used too. Encouraging to hear, since I'm an old guy now too, a semi "flatlander" living on the only hill I could afford to buy in TX, and finally have an old farmhouse with a front porch to pick my guitar on, and can plug the band in and make a much noise as we want out here in the country. Sheesh I'm probably more country than I'd admit. Yeehaw

We going to have to invade your place next year once it warms up.:deal:
