I wanted to install a voltmeter and found these waterproof meters cheap.

Drilled a 1-1/4"hole, used posi-taps on the right running light. I've had the heated grip switch in the same location on the other side for a couple years.
Better protection for the switch and the wires.

Used a bit of Elmers glue as plastic loctite on the backing nut...just in case I need to replace it. It works well and is very sensitive. I did check accuracy against a digital voltmeter.

What can I say, long winter here on the Tundra.

The ones with the USB port work great too...

How long have you had the one with the USB ports and have you checked the voltage reading compared to a volt meter? I've considered one of those same ports, but saw where comments on amazon said the volt meter was not reading correctly. Other comments said the USB ports quit in a couple of months.

All of those $10-12 USB thingies are a bit flaky in quality. I'll go through 3 in a year, then find one that lasts for 5 years. I'm planning to install 12V power sockets in my camping trailer in the next few weeks, so will be buying one of these.

I've been using the combo jack about 2 years so far, maybe a bit less. Both usb ports still work, and the voltmeter is only off by about .4 through the range.

I did put one of the same volt meter's on my KLR and it was destroyed from vibes after abut 3K miles. But, was fun to check actual voltage.
