Re: Clouds in my coffee

Huh, that DOES look like Eric Johnson. Probably the last time anybody ever saw him playing rhythm guitar.

He was truly a child prodigy at that time! He is one of the BEST guitar players to blend Jeff Beck, Wes Montgomery, Eric Clapton, and Hendrix. His unique, technical style is simple amazing covering a wide range of genres....he defaulted to the Stratocaster thirty years ago.

Re: Clouds in my coffee

I remember the first time I ever heard him -- on Austin City Limits, around 1985. I had never even heard of him. About halfway through the first song, I looked at the trio on my TV, then said to my wife, "Where are the other guys?"

Re: Clouds in my coffee

Yup, that would be the concert. As I remember, among other songs he played an acoustic tribute to Jerry Reed, and his version of "Love or Confusion" - both mind blowing.

Re: Clouds in my coffee

Adding a few more action shots from a track meet a few years ago taken on my ageing Samsung cell phone. On these pictures track positioning was important. Being located near the apex of the turn track seemed to provide the best angle on the course. All images were taken with 3.7 mm focal length, ISO 160, and f/2.6 on the cell phone. The exposure ranges around 1/2960 to 1/1800.

How did a martian get into this track race? <lol>

I posted these on Tinypic.com. However, they have sporadic broken image links and are trying to stop external displays on web sites in order to push people to their image portal. For this reason, I cannot recommend tinypic.com. I suggest the highly regarded main Photobucket image hosting site as an alternative.

There's something about your editing style I really like.

And all these are with your cell phone?

Kory,

That is a mucho excellent compliment from such an amazing photographer.

Yep, all pictures were taken on my Samsung Galaxy that is five years old.

I am always taking "mental" pictures on trips and edit them in my mind first. If they are compelling scenes from that inward perspective, then I will actually shoot the image with my cell phone. This way, I avoid taking lots of physical pictures hoping that just one turns out decent...if that makes sense.

Wow excellent pics. Are the strong colors from a particular setting on your phone or post shoot software enhancement?
