RIDE TO EAT: December 10TH meet n Greet and eat with A ride on the Side

I wondered why I didn’t see any bikes here, the 10th is Sunday. I got a ride in anyway but didn’t get to meet and greet. I won’t be back tomorrow.

Sorry about the miss. But I guess that make you the trail breaker.

Anything to report on road conditions? Ice/snow? Flooding? Mothra hiding in the trees?

I was a week early for the Gatesville M&G&E back in the summer.

Put me down as In+1 KP.

The roads I took were good, 84 west to 16 south. From San Saba I took 580 to 116 and then 84 east back to Waco.

FYI, the PBS show Daytripper will be airing a San Saba episode this Tuesday, 12/14 at 8:30pm which includes a lunch segment at Youngs B & BBQ.

The day started with a crisp blue sky and temperatures in the thirties. The heated gear made riding pleasant. There was a good turnout of hard core riders who were not afraid to venture out despite the frigid temperatures.

It was great to meet old friends and get acquainted with several new ones as well, including the dual-sport crowd led by Kory. The afternoon saw temperatures in the lows 70s as I managed to ride a few dirt roads before sunset.

As always, thanks Drew for putting on these fun events.

I sure wanted to go, but I received the look from my fellow riding partner (wife) who reminded me our Son comes home on the 16th for leave from the USMC, and the spare room needed make ready. I could of gone, but I might of needed the guest room tonight.

Thanks to everyone who went. Seemed to be a little light because of the scare of cold weather and riding partners (wife’s). But thanks again Drew for the meet up. Good food, and good conversations are always fun. A little chilly on the way there but absolutely beautiful weather by the time we were done eating. Below are some pics of the meet and after ride. Forgot a pic of the Regency Bridge monument.

Thanks KP for another great location. Me, Slowgeezer and DucDodgers continued on to Kerrville and are doing the Three Sisters today then back thru LLano tomorrow. We should get in around 1000 miles for the three day trip. Brisk clear starts to the day but warming up nicely by the end.

Great ride and awesome Q! Spent the rest of the day meandering. Gorgeous afternoon to be on a bike!

See yall in 2018 at the next one! Good job Drew!

Thanks to all who braved the cooler morning weather for perfect after lunch temps. I had a brisket sandwich that was piled high with beef.

Noticed a drive shaft seal issue so was not able to do the after ride that would have been fun. Thank you Kory and pops for showing folks around. Rode FM 580 there and back with Carl in tow. Ride was nice and twisty and free from much traffic except that extra slow VW bus topped out at 45 MPH on the way back. Parked the bike in the driveway sat down to drink a glass of tea then came back out to a nice puddle. So till I get parts to repair the leak I am gonna see what I can do on the Beemer.

God bless your son and I thank him for his service.

But ... he's a Marine and mom needs to fluff his pillow? :duck:

Hoo-Rah

I gave Drew a couple new spots to scout.

Jasper's in Bluff Dale makes a great burger and Fat Boyz in Johnson City is good as well.
