I know it's a pretty straightforward route, but if anyone has a suggested route from NTX to Wichita, please send it my way. Heading that way this weekend.

anything worthwhile to stop and see between here and there?

I will only say that I-35 becomes a toll road when you hit Kansas. I didn't expect that.

well there is this quaint little casino on the right after you get into Oklahoma if you take I-35!

if you are looking for a alternative to I-35 you can take US-81 from the north side of Fort Worth all the way to Wichita.
it adds 28 miles and about 2 hours over blitzing up I-35

Not a whole lot to see between here and there, though if you haven't been to the OKC memorial, I'd recommend taking it in.

There were nice areas on that route I posted. I'm not saying it's The Rockies, but it wasn't bad.

If you have time, downtown Guthrie, Okla., just west of I-35 has a beautiful historic downtown. It was the territorial capital after the land rush. Even had underground parking for horses and carriages.

Is the toll part new? I drove that about 10 years ago and don't remember that. Either route suggested here is nice. Once you get to about northern OK, the countryside becomes very pleasant. The road won't be real exciting, but lots of rolling hills and farmlands. I made the drive in Oct 2001 (in the wake of 9/11) when my CEO grounded the whole company from flying, but my boss demanded I be in KC to attend a meeting he didn't feel like attending himself. 8 1/2 hours without speeding, and a relaxing drive in a rent car with the stereo cranked all the way.

It's been there since 1956. I've give them money every summer.

This is the route I took coming back from Wichita to Fort Worth a couple of years back. On the way up there I took US-81. I wanted two different routes that mostly avoided I-35.

I was looking at this route as well. Turns out we are not going though. One of the animals got sick and had to go to the vet. The MIL lives there, so in the future I will probably take this route.
