Found this on youtube today. Scary stuff, he tried hard to save that bike, but had to let it go

That's not a flash flood. It's hard to feel sorry for someone that intentionally drives into flood waters.

Fast flowing water can be lethal. Glad he survived.

At least it serves as a warning to other people stupid enough to enter fast moving water of unknown depth.

As a 1st responder, I'll say it.... What an idiot..... So many ways to die there.

Guess he missed the day in school when they were teaching "Turn around, don't drown"

Nice of him to post it online. I'm sure his insurance company was very sympathetic to his "flash flood" claim after viewing this.

Bet he was thinking all those people watching him blow by thought "Man! This guy is cool!" when in reality, quite the opposite.

Karma...

It is advisable to take moving water seriously.

A: you dont know what you dont know... as seen many times each year, people do not understand the power of fluid hydraulics. Having seen them move, roll over everything from 120 ton tank recovery vehicles to HMMWV in the military and lifted truck to Rav4 and motorcycle on the civ side.. I understand the dangers of moving water.

B: Yes it was an ill advised attempt, and worse then losing his bike and putting his own life in danger.. he now needs to be rescued, meaning SOMEONE else has to risk thier lives to rescue him because he was 1: stupid or 2: ignorant

If you work in a nuclear power plant you out to know the dangers and precautions of radiation
If you live on the coast you shoudl know the dangers and precautions to take for hurricanes and other high water.
If you want to be around flood waters, be it home, commute to work or "play/ adventure" you should seek out and LEARN about the dangers and precautions to take for being around, near and IN flood waters.

Looks like a flash flood...it comes out of nowhere...like someone suddenly turned on a mega faucet.

When he started to cross, there was barely any water.

Once you started across, hard to turn around.

The 500# log laying in the road that he passed would have been one clue.

He can ride for sure..... (pikes peak)

Just goes to show that even the best of us have "oh crap" moments in life where we might not have made quite the best decision at the moment. We shan't mention certain Olympians......
