Great place, was cold and windy at the break times. High of 62F......I don't think so. I felt good on a DRZ400. Don't think a GS800 would be fun there IMO.
I'll be back for sure !

Thanks, Vinny

Re: Crooked Creek on Sunday

Back when I had my Transalp I took it up there as a second bike and rode it around the field and the very easy trail around the trees near the building, and up and down the dirt road back to the lake. It was good practice to get used to it offroad, but only for an hour or so. it gets boring pretty quick. The rest of the time I rode my dirt bike. By the time I sold that bike I was much more comfortable on it and could have ridden more of the trails, but still doubt I would have taken it on them.

For reference, the Transalp is close to the weight of the 800, 2/3's the horsepower and a front fork that feels like spaghetti noodles.

I've got other bikes, Vinny. I've seen some of the videos from CC and agree, the GS wouldn't be much fun out there.

Re: Crooked Creek on Sunday

Anything over a 650 is too big, my son rode my 690 out there and did most all of the trails, but really worked him out.
Also David are you ready for a 300 yet?

A BMW group has made several trips out there and did the trails on their GS's and GSA's so it can be done. It might not be fun but it can be done on the big BMW's. The last time I know they were there it was a little wet and those BMW's did find some mud deep enough to bury a couple of them.
