TARA DFW North March Happenings

Let' see...where can you get cold margaritas or cervezas, chips, salsa, and really average Mexican food? Our 1st Tuesday meeting in March. We will be at El Fenix in Grapevine again. Tuesday...March 6 @7PM. The address is: 401 TX-114, Grapevine, TX 76051. They are right next door to Spring Creek BBQ.

March has several opportunities for some good riding. First up is an organized AMA dual sport ride in Tucson, March 17-18. Chris puts on a really good ride. Usually a little over 100 miles each day, a Saturday night banquet, door prizes, and goofy games. The early registration discount ends tomorrow nght (2/28) at midnight. On your way home from Tucson...just stop by Terlingua for the annual Around the Bend Rally. This year it is March 22-25. Great four day bike rally in Big Bend. Their thread is: http://www.twtex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115671

The weather should be improving soon. Anyone looking to put together a ride, or weekend trip to Red River, Barnwell, or anywhere else...be sure to post it up here!

1st Tuesday Meet Review: We had another good turnout last night, about 20 riders and family.

We don't have any local planned rides in March so far. However the good weather is going to bring out folks wanting to get in some wheel time! If you want to head out to one of the parks, or plan a trip...post it up here, or send out an email to the TARA DFW group.

The "Texas Adventure Ride" will be held May 3-6, in Junction, Texas. A couple riders last night had been to this event before and both had a good time. For more info check their thread: http://www.twtex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116637

Robert Lee and Chris gave us an update on the upcoming Redneck Ramble. The dates for the Ramble are May 19 & 20. It will be held in Bonham. and the event headquarters is the Holiday Inn. On Saturday there will be motorcycle field events...with trophies going to the winners. Saturday night there will be a dinner and prize drawings, along with some short Dual Sport seminars. The dual sport ride will be Sunday morning. It will be approximately 155 miles and almost all unpaved. Riders will be grouped according to skill level, so regardless of your experience...you will be able to have a good time. If you are planning on going...and staying at the hotel, be sure to tell them you are with the Ramble...and you will get a special rate.
