Re: Sad Update
Somehow I missed this thread. Am glad to hear you're gonna be OK. Sorry about the bike and injuries. Best wishes on the new ride.

Which is funny. I've been all over the place on my insurance quotes. The best ones I had were on my 600 bikes. See, if you price around, some don't have a complete database and would require to know the engine size. Turns out, at the time, less than 600cc was in a different insurance bracket. My GSX-R600 was actually 599cc, which is what I supplied when the request was made. My first bike, I was 24 years old, was a financed Suzuki Katana 600. I had to have full coverage. Having no experience and my first bike put me through the ringer. Also being under 25 years old didn't help much either. One quote I got was for $4000 per year! Bear in mind, my sale price of the bike was $4999. I asked why it was so high and the answer "We just really don't want to insure you on that bike." I think I ended up at about $1700 per year with another company and was very happy as I only had to pay that for 6 months till I turned 25 and all my insurance went down. Still, for a bit I was actually making bigger insurance payments than loan payments.

Re: Sad Update
First, Very glad your OK, I had a wreck in the same fashion over 30 years ago and I still remember it like yesterday and what was going thru my mind as I was flipping over the roof of the car was staying tucked in an effort to prevent breaking my neck, was wearing a helmet on a Harley and landed head first rolling, jumped up and limped to the side of the road as fast as I could because I didn't want to get hit again, evaluation: cars hurt and it could have been much worse, new forks and tank and all was good, what was weird is no one seem to care except for the car that hit me, to everyone else, my bike laying in the road was in the way and they had to go, no witnesses, but anyway, getting a new scooter of your liking will be fun, glad you made it.
