There are two iron bridges over Brushy Creek in eastern Williamson county. Both are south and southeast of Taylor.
This bridge is on CR 456 a little east and north of Coupland. It has recently been taken out of service and there are now mounds of dirt piled at either end and road closed signs in place. The bridge deck is in really good shape for a closed bridge, but there are some guard rails missing. You can see the open space just to the right of the bike where the rails would be. It was refurbished in 2005 so I'm hoping the closure is only temporary.
This bridge is on CR 434 not too far south of US 79. It is in excellent shape and still serves the community.
