Hey guys. Newly licensed rider. I bought an 01 sv650s and immediately took the msf class. I'm enjoying figuring out my bike and running around town in 40 degree weather

Welcome to the site!

The SV650S is a great bike! Loads of fun. I can't tell from your pic, but if you don't already have frame sliders on it, it might be a good idea to mount some. This way, if you tip over it will land on the sliders and hopefully save the body work from any scratching or dinging. They are cheap insurance.

howdy from a fellow 1st gen svs rider! as tourmeister stated, it is a great bike. i commute with my svs, riding about 12,000 miles a year. it has not given me any major troubles, yet. ;-) and as far as the frame sliders go, i have motosliders, http://www.frame-sliders.com/sv.html.

also svriders, http://forum.svrider.com, is another great source for sv riders.

have fun with a great bike!

Welcome to group.

Svs isn't a bad bike at all. Got one in pieces in "my room" now.

:welcome: to TWT. And, I'm sure JustJ would second and third the frame sliders suggestion! :trust:
